wow thank you for linking this! This is actually great news, and I hope dealers don’t markup to adjust for the market. I have an order coming in soon, currently scheduled to enter port in a few days. i’m hoping i don’t lose a deposit over tariffs and can actually take delivery.
Sorry for the lack of clarity. Just an agreement that makes my deposit refundable till a week prior to delivery; at that point it will turn non-refundable. I already test drove, and will be taking delivery once it arrives. I just wanted a fail-safe just in case I choose not to purchase.
You can refuse to take the car prior to signing/closing. With that said; if you put down a deposit for it, i'd highly check to make sure it's refundable or the terms.
My dealer was telling me that it was non-refundable, at that point I was walking away & I drafted and had them sign a paper...
