does the hybrid 4runner have a tow/haul switch? i have a 2025 landcruiser 250 with the same powertrain and if you push the tow/haul switch you can disable auto start stop. it will hold gears a bit longer and won't shift to 8th on the freeway (maybe 7th too)... i just turn it back to normal on...
