I have only had PPF installed once, back in 2014. It was full front, mirrors, a-pilars and half hood using 3M film. Even today it looks goos and has protected the pain very well. The cost back in 2014 was $650 installed.

I just called three local installers in Tennessee and found the cost to be $2000 - $2500 for front end, full hood using XPEL film. I got sticker shock and am reconsidering getting PPF. I guess I had an install cost of $1000-$1200 in mind. These costs did not include removing the ceramic coating that the dealer applied. They said that would have to be buffed off as film would not stick to it. This would cost more!

Is it just the area I live in or has PPF install costs gone through the roof?

I would love to hear about what others are paying and if doing it yourself is a worthwhile option.

Wow, that is where I had my first PPF put on in 2014. $650. I guess they are getting lawyer per hour rates :)

I was quoted $8000 for the full vehicle in Denver. Hard pass.

I checked around a few places here and the starting point is $9,995 for a full vehicle. Hard pass.

In Southern California I paid 1,900 for the front end with xpel. It included bumper, hood and side front fenders.

Dallas, TX here. Just paid ~$600 for Xpel on the front bumper and headlights only. Realistically speaking, you don't need to do any other areas considering how high up the truck sits. If you have mudflaps, that takes care of any concern with chips on the side

Great advice, I might get revised quotes for just the most vulnerable areas. I do have mudflaps, just fitted yesterday.

I got quoted $7700 for full vehicle in NC which I just don't see how that's worth it. When you go to trade your vehicle in, the dealer doesn't care if your paint is a 10/10 or a 7/10 which is easily achievable by just regular washing and waxing and parking in the back of the parking lot.

Unless you are trying to protect from getting pinstripes in the trail.

Here in Las Vegas I paid $5500 for Xpel. Everything with exception of the roof and tailgate. Would have been $6400 for complete. Other quotes were as high as $8000 complete.
I’ll ceramic coat the roof.
Definite sticker shock!

it's a fair price. Xpel is really good compared to other films as well. Mine in my aubaru which I have since 2017, is still going strong. Also a full hood sounds fair, you can do partial and full fender
