I’d probably get a LC250 if a non hybrid version was available. Since it’s not, the 4R is my preference for the lower price, less weight, more cargo room and less complexity. Also 3rd row option!
I have a 5G 4Runner with the same recommendation. I do think it’s a good idea to drive in 4WD occasionally, but I certainly don’t do it monthly except in winter. Every few months is good for me on all my vehicles. I rarely activate the rear locker, but I try to add that to the list.

I did notice today in my Bronco going 80 on I-15 a lot of the noise is from the tires. Which I’m sure a lifted 4Runner on 35” all terrains would also have quite a bit of tire hum. Can’t really get around that. I just need more summer canyon drives with the hardtop off to enjoy the benefits.
