@stom_m3 pointed out that the extra width on the TRD Pro is from wheel offset. Nothing to do with different arms or geometry. I was really hoping Toyota would offer increased travel and larger tire options. There is huge demand for 35" tires on the Bronco via the Sasquatch package which is...
I don't see anywhere where adding the hybrid to the Tacoma Off Road gets you larger tires. If anyone knows better please tell me. I am kind of shocked that the TRD Off Road only comes with 31" tires without even a 33" upgrade available!
I'm looking a bit more into the Off Road vs Pro decision. For the Tacoma, the Pro width is 80.1 vs 77.9 Off Raod. I do like the extra 2.2" wider stance on the Pro.
I also prefer the extra height the Pro's 33" tires (265/70R18) gives over the 31/32" Off Road's have (265/70R17). I have a...
Part of me wants the torque and acceleration the hybrid provides and the ability to plug in a bunch of stuff is very cool. That said, being older now I don't need extra speed and acceleration like I used to but the extra cargo room would definitely come in handy. I'd also like the ability to...
The 4Runner is more a more off-road focused vehicle than the GX550.
Ground clearance: TRD Off Road, TRD Pro and Trailhunter have 11.5" of ground clearance compared to 8.9" on the GX 500 Overtrail. Ground clearance is the #1 feature that makes a vehicle capable off road. This applies to...
Doesn't make sense that the TRD Pro would be $2000 less than the TRD Off-Road or that there's a $10k premium for the Trailhunter over the TRD Pro.
I'd guess Trd Pro starts around $62,000, Trailhunter is highest price (Platinum?) trim at $2-3000 over this and Off-Road with hybrid $5-8k less.
Yes, Since 4Runner and Tacoma are the same platform, I'd expect longer and wider for the 4Runner. I believe the Tacoma is 3" wider for lesser versions and 6" wider for the TRD Pro and Trail Hunter versions. I plan on getting the 4Runner TRD Pro and definitely like the added track width as the...
Not sure about that, but the 24 Tacoma's wheel base is about 4.5" longer relative to the 23, so I'd expect similar change to the new 4Runner. Will also be quite a bit wider (track) which is a welcome update!
Glad the 4Runner will be wider (track). I know the hybrids (TRD Pro & Trail Hunter) come with 18"s on the Tacoma, but I'm skeptical this as anything to do with larger brakes (I could be wrong). The F150 Raptor comes standard with 35" tires and 17" wheels. Same for Broncos with Sasquatch 35s...
