While I had the factory ARB roof rack off to compare fuel economy I decided to weigh it. It is 45-48lb, that did not include the 4 steel mounts so call it 50lb. It is springy so the scale fluctuated. I found it pretty slick in regards to wind drag. Under 60mph their didnt seem to be much...
In case of those wondering as I do, I like to gather all types of data. So while i had the wheels and tires off of the truck i weighed them. I can add others and make it a collection of information as well.
The factory optioned TRD wheels with AT3Wa,600 miles on them are 65 lb
600 miles on the odo, stock "upgraded" wheels and tires, with chin spoiler and removed the arb roof rack. Was getting 24.8 with the roof rack and 26.1 without it going to work 50-70 mph random highways. Steady 70 is more around 23s.
That is my problem, the search bar stays blank. Im trying this work around but it still is not functioning. It seems ill just have to save it as favorites. The gps interface is not great. Everything is in weird places and key functions like this are missing.
I wonder how to the roof racks affect mpg. I have 180 miles on my ORP and it has the arb roof rack. You can start to hear it about 80mph.
So far ive been getting about 20-22.5 mostly highway and 19.5 to 20 around town granted it isnt broken in at all. Thats in eco mode.
What a great truck! Coming from a 5th gen and a Cayenne S, I prefer this by far. The engine is peppy, the steering is very good for a suv, the brakes feel way better then the 5th gen. Not to mention the turning radius is great. It feels very nimble around smaller lots. The camera system is great...
