Just curious guys I have not yet seen anywhere on the web on YouTube 0-60 times for the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner! I see estimates only
I currently have a 2024 Landcruiser and a 2004 V-8 Limited 4Runner with 445,000 miles on it. Will only sell that truck when the engine goes. I love that 4Runner it is so fun to drive it’s at least a half second faster than the V-6 and im guessing 7.2 vs 7.8 but honestly feels like an even bigger gap. I know the 4th Gen had two iterations of that awesome V-8. I bought a 2021 TRD Pro and sold It three months later- I am not a fan of that V-6.

I thoroughly enjoy my Landcruiser estimates are 7.8-8.1 seconds which to me feels accurate..it is a bit lethargic. I will say the LC feels much better to me than V-6 5th Gen 4Runners. The torque makes a huge difference In other areas driving around town or passing on the highway. I’m averaging about 21.5 mpg mostly in town.

The Lexus GX550 OverTrail at 6.3-6.5 is a blast to gun but not a fan of the premium gas requirement and the poor mileage also not a fan of the instrument panel or look.. to me it is one boring ass truck to look at..very generic the Landcruiser is much better looking vehicle.

Qualms I have about the LC trim is lack of space in the front cabin wtf tiny glove compartment and arm rest area, in general too much exterior plasti, expensive gas, the tinny sound the door makes when closed, the lack of struts for the hood and the mess of that engine bay. The technology of it is insane and it is very fun to drive. I surf and Paddleboard a ton here in Florida and I really miss the rear window rolling down ie 4Runner. Be forewarned the LC is a box i added Dakine roof rack pads and wind noise is horrific.

i may sell the LC and buy a new Limited or Platinum 4Runner!

Guessing the new 4Runner will be faster because of the lower weight same turbo hybrid engine
Guessing maybe 6.8-7.5 secs 0-60
I ski out West and surf a ton but I dont 4 wheel much other than maybe BLM roads off the grid out West and prefer full time 4 wheel for chasing snow when skiing.

Anyone have accurate 0-60 times for the new 2025 4Runner

No 0-60 stats from Toyota or real world test numbers from journalists yet but the press drive is in 2 weeks and the embargo lifts shortly after so we'll see real world performance figures including 0-60 times posted soon.

For now, if we look to the 2024 Tacoma, we might be be able to estimate the 2025 4Runner 0-60 times. Motortrend tested the 2024 Tacoma and got the following 0-60 times:

Tacoma TRD Pro: 7.1 sec
Tacoma TRD Off-Road: 7.2 sec
Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4: 7.4 sec

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro curb weight is 5,332 lbs.

The 2025 4Runner TRD Pro curb weight is 5,455 lbs. With it being just a tad bit heavier than the Tacoma TRD Pro, we might see 7.2 sec 0-60 acceleration?

I'd like to see a 0-60 time for the SR5. It has the lightest curb weight.

I am probably going to get annihilated for posing this question: why is the 0-60 times so important to some of you? I understand that when merging onto the highway, being able to do so quickly matters, but 7.1 or 7.8 seconds, were talking tenths of a second?? Is this a breaking point for anyone, like "if I can't get to 60 mph in less than 8 seconds in my huge SUV, I am not buying it."

No doubt that making an SUV that's capable off-road necessarily means giving up other things. Off-road, towing, fuel economy, acceleration, range, comfort, weight, luxurious interior...you cannot have everything. With regard to acceleration, I think the most interesting comparison in the 4Runner range is the gas vs. the hybrid and how little the hybrid offers to trims that give you the choice, such as the TRD Off-Road and the Limited model.

I think it was a mistake to bring the Land Cruiser back as a barely differentiated product from GX and 4Runner. It would have been much cooler to make the Land Cruiser a smaller vehicle with a removable top to compete with Wranger and Bronco. Maybe they will still do that. I can't understand who the demographic is for the new LC. It's not off-road enough for the off-road guys, it's too expensive for most, and the rich soccer moms are going to buy a Lexus.
