With 6th gen 4Runners starting to arrive at ports, a general delivery / shipment timeline should be helpful for future owners. This is what I've learned and experienced after buying my past Toyotas and also from what I've seen others experience with their purchases.

Delivery timing varies depends on the geographic location of the port and dealership, but on average here’s a general timeline.
Shipping of 4Runners from Tahara plant in Aichi Japan to a US / NA port takes 2-4 weeks, depending on which destination port.
  • West coast ports take 15-20 days
  • East coast ports take 25-30 days
Processing / inspection at the port takes a few days to 1 week.
Delivery to dealership takes from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on distance of the dealership from the port.
Total time from build to delivery is generally 4-6 weeks.
Here is an informative video showing what happens at Toyota ports once the vehicle arrives:

How many days does it take to build a 4runner at the factory?

Assembly itself takes about 1-2 days to fully assemble a 4Runner on the production line.

But the total manufacturing process from raw material to fully assembled 4Runner takes up to 1 week (this includes stamping, painting, component manufacturing, etc.)
