I've been using a Blue Ridge Overland gear attic (link here) for years on my 5th gen. It's the best! I can't imagine not having something like that installed for my daily use. Perfect for stashing jackets, bike helmets, sleeping pads, etc.

On the 6th gen, I was disappointed to see that Toyota didn't include any ceiling handles above the rear seats.

This is a necessary mounting point for a gear attic.

To make something work on the 6th gen, you'd have to rig off the front seat ceiling handles and stretch all the way back to the hang hooks near the back door. That's a long run and most likely an issue for getting adequate tension.

Have any 6th gen owners come up with a working solution? The more I work through these little things, I just want to keep my 5th gen (still going strong with over 230k).

The gear attic could attach to the ceiling hooks behind the second row seats?

The Raingler Ceiling Attic Net for the 2024 Tacoma uses the ceiling hooks, they're just in a different position than the 2025 4Runner.

The hook you show is the only mounting point in the back and aligns with the rear mounting point on the 5th gen. What's missing is the same type of mount (or handle) near the 2nd row seats. It needs 4 mounting points.

I've added your image with some additional markup. The red X is the missing 2nd row seat handle that the 5th gen has. For all of the attic designs on 5th gen, they connect between that X and your mounting point with the yellow arrow.

The dotted blue line shows the only mounting options in the 6th gen. You'd have to connect all the way to the front seat handle. That's a long run to keep tension on. Without a sunroof, this might actually create an opportunity for a huge attic. I'm 6' 4" so I'm not banking on this approach because I require the head room in the front.

I reached out to the company that makes the attic I run in my 5th gen and they said they don't have anything in development for the 6th gen due to this limitation. Sigh.

I looked up the company you shared. They have one for the 5th gen that shows some unique mounting hooks between the headliner and pillars. Something like this will most likely be the solution for the 6th gen.

In the install video, it's a bit of a process. They're drilling holes for the mounting points.

If anyone is located in Washington, here’s an opportunity to get this figured out.
