I have been waiting patiently for my new 4R6G SR5. Deposit made a while ago and have been getting weekly updated from the dealer. The last update was 6 days ago stating the vehicle was off the train and on a truck for delivery to the dealer. I was giving a 3 days Window, yesterday being the last day and no updates. I visited the dealer yesterday and was told that the delivery should be next week and it can take longer due to it being a new model and additional inspections at each stage of delivery. I seem to doubt that that inspect the vehicle to a level that would delay it but, I don't know. Do they really inspect every vehicle at each stage of elivery?

I spoke to a claimed sales manager who pretty much stated, this delay is normal. What I don't think he appreciated is that as the delay increases, I am looking at other vehicles and could walk. I guess they don't care as another buyer will pickup the 4R6G. I will however, do a reality check today on other non-Toyota vehicles as I have extra days to wait. Might save a little money too.

Luckily, I am not in a desperate rush for the vehicle however, a storm is predicted tonight and tomorrow with large hail. Obviously I would have liked the new car under cover in the garage for this weather event. I'll now have to be very detailed in my initial inspection looking for hail damage.

I do find this Toyota allocation and delayed delivery frustrating and different from any vehicle purchased in the past. Previously, with non-Toyota dealers, I check dealer stock, negotiate a price via email or phone, visit the dealer and am done in 2 hours. Maybe if I was buying a vehicle that was on the lot, things would be different.

most of the deliveries that I have knowledge of are coming in a few days early. It can depend on how far you are by truck from the rail yard. Some dealers it’s like pulling teeth to get an update. Also keep in mind that you can be at the mercy of the truck driver. Perhaps he decided to wait a few days before commencing his deliveries. Lots of variables. I’m in the same boat waiting for my delivery. Good luck.

Mine was unloaded at Portland, 3/3, went to processing, on 3/9, dealer called, said went to rail trans on 3/11. Called on 3/16 said loading to delivery car carrier soon. On 3/18, said wire the funds to their finance arm, left our home central FL on 3/20, arrived at dealer 3/21 after overnight at Ringold GA, drove the last 320 miles to dealer in KY, after 0300 wake up.
Did the deal, headed to Cincinnati to visit friends. You should get a call anytime.
