I'd have loved 20+, this really isn't too bad from my perspective.

We routinely take our built JK (12.5 mpg/avg) well into the back country in the western US. With a 20 gal tank, 12.5 miles, it's a theoretical range of 250 miles. Even sticking to a 80% capacity limit (keep a reserve), that's still an effective 200 mile range. We carry gas but, while we got uncomfortably low once or twice over the years, we've never had to use it. We simply top off almost every time we come into a small town.

With 19 gal and 22 mpg, that's a theoretical range of 418 miles. Knock that down to 17 mpg because of larger tires what-have-you, that's 323 miles. If we again use our 80% target for planning purposes, that's still 258 miles. If you carry 3-4 gallons w/you as well, you've got plenty for the vast majority of needs. Unless you're, like, going to the Artic Circle :).

For me, it comfortably represents a 29% increase in range for our overlanding purposes.
