I'm sure you 4Runner guys are already aware of this... so apologies if it's already been mentioned somewhere. (I'm just a Bronco guy looking for excuses to avoid doing my taxes.)

BUT... trim offerings below. The Trailhunter only being available with the hybrid is kind of disappointing, but I think Toyota did the same with the Tacoma. You'd think for an overland-focused trim you'd want to maximize cargo capacity and lose the heavy battery, but apparently not.

2025 Toyota 4Runner trim levels
  • SR5 (i-Force)
  • TRD Sport (i- Force)
  • TRD Sport Premium (i- Force)
  • TRD Off-Road (i-Force and i-Force Max)
  • TRD Off-Road Premium (i-Force and i-Force Max)
  • Limited (i-Force and i-Force Max)
  • TRD Pro (i-Force Max)
  • Trailhunter (i-Force Max)
  • Platinum (i-Force Max)

Do we know which trims has the available center locking diff?? Couldn't find that anywhere.

Good question @TigerEyeJazz would be nice!

I know it's Tacoma but found this on Car & Driver website. Gives an idea what's coming for us. I think the TRD Pro is out for me!

I think the Tacoma pricing for TRD Pro is going to be higher than what the 4Runner will be. The Tacoma has so many other off road features especially those seats which will definitely make the cost go up

so the platinum will be $56K if it is between the limited and trail hunter ? I thought the trailer hunter was the top model.

Oh no I know I was mentioning that’s one thing the Tacoma has over the 4r and I’m almost certain those seats cost a lot to make/develop.

Speaking of those seats, I'm glad the 4R won't get them. Read about them and even though they are nice, they sure take up room for those in the back.

Not worth it if you have people sitting in the rear seats.

I think the weight of the battery is offset by the additional power the hybrid system adds. I personally think it makes sense why a model designed to be loaded down is only available with the most powerful engine.

I'm in Canada as well and have been noticing the Taco MSRP prices seem cheaper here than taking US ones and converting. I'm hoping the trend continues with the 4Runner!

Yes and so far the Over MSRP Markups diseased has not spread here!
I was told that Markups are illegal in Canada by law.
