I currently have the following car reserved that just arrived at the dealership yesterday:
2025 4Runner Off Road Premium - Heritage Blue
Options include - Tow Tech package, all weather floor liners & cargo mat, integrated dashcam, door panel protectors, cross bars, rear cargo lamp, and misc BS adds like the bage overlays.
Dealer was able to give me roughly a $800 discount for options I did not want. I also got them to remove their DIO like the security system, door edge/cup guards, and tint. This puts me at roughly $58k TSRP or $1500 over base MSRP+Destination, however you want to look at it. So far this is the best deal I've found after contacting numerous dealerships in my state and out of state.
My only gripe is that it's not the color I want. I definitely wanted to move forward with the same trim in Everest Green with just the cross bars and all weather mats. But I'm unable to find a deal without DIO options/ADM for one.
I don't necessarily need the car right away and I do like the Heritage Blue as well but I'm stuck if I should move forward with this car or wait for one in the color I want. Feels a little dumb going back and forth and being stuck on just a color, but I figured if I was paying this much for a new car I should get what I want. This is the 2nd car I'd be buying new from a dealership and I do see that the market has changed quite a bit in recent years. Back in 2017, I was able to get a car in the exact spec/color I wanted and was able to talk the dealer into a MSRP OTD deal with all taxes and fees included, resulting in a roughly $4-5k discount overall. Feels like those days are long gone.
Would you guys jump on this? Or wait until this "new released car demand" cools down hopefully later this year.
