Here are some figures comparing the 4Runner Trailhunter against the Land Cruiser - land cruiser and the Lexus GX550 Overtrail+.

Personally my vote is for the Trailhunter. I love the fact that it has better rock crawling abilities and that I don't half to spend my money on premium fuel.

Good to see this info in one place for comparison.

The Landcruiser seems like a deal, pricing in about $7k below the Trailhunter and therefore the TRD Pro as well.

The greatest disadvantage of the 4runner is the very poor visibility out, especially forward visibility over the very tall hood; it feels claustrophobic inside.

The LC and the GX both have exceptional visibility in all directions.

The Trailhunter and TRD Pro will be more trail capable than the LC and the GX but that will matter only to those who are involved in extreme off roading/rock climbing. The majority of folks will never reach the performance capability of the LC or the GX.

Given the price of the highest trim 4Runner approaching the mid to high 70's, the much larger cargo area of the GX due to lack of the battery, more power, better quality interior and superior after sales service at Lexus dealerships plus a very handsome exterior, I feel the GX is the ultimate winner here. The GX is two vehicles in one. It is a luxury SUV and an outstanding off road vehicle with a powerful and refined engine that makes driving on the road or off a delight.

I would encourage all to look into the GX and remember that the Premium and Premium Plus grades of the GX are priced roughly the same as the TRD Pro and TH.

I'm still impressed with how much clearance the GX550 OT has and that 10 speed will feel pretty sporty over those 8 speed trany's. Is the wheelbase really the same across of them or is your data hallucinating?

The Lexus would be in my garage except for one thing. Price. It is literally twice what I paid for a new 2024 4Runner Off-road Premium.

I can sell the 4Runner for more than I paid for it. Should I?

What will put a bigger smile on your face, more often? I appreciate a nice interior. Add in exceptional off-road performance, it's a tough choice.

I’m fine keeping the 2024 4Runner for a long time.

The GX OT can be had for $72k with the sunroof delete. I think the Landcruiser is down on features in this comparison. I think it compares more direct with a 4R OR-P hybrid.
