The TRD off road premium that TN Vols posted has actually only ~700 dollar in BS additions. The rest (Moonroof, Tow tech package, door edge guards and Mudguards) are either essential or at least useful enough. But yes, if you don't want any of those you will have to wait quite some time until models without them show up or prices can be negotiated. Toyota does the same with the LC's and unfortunately there they have additions that are a no-go like 20" allow wheels for 1300 or steps for 950 that actually make the car worse.
Keep in mind, you can ask the dealer to have port installed options removed assuming the vehicle is still in “build” status. The dealer should be able to work with Toyota to remove at least some of them and add ones you may want. I know from experience on my 25 ORP! I learned this from CarEdge.com. Ray and Zach!!

As a heads up if anyones looking for a TRD Off-Road Premium in Colorado. My dealer in Denver, Groove Toyota (on south broadway), sent me an allocation they have as an alternative if i didnt want to continue to wait on the TRD Pro waitlist. Groove is an MSRP price dealer and has been fairly decent to work with so far.

This is the first one I've seen without thousands of dollars in PIO's and FIO's. Encouraging!

Not so much conspiracy theory as reality. Different markets, and different countries will alter build to spec, and for compliance reasons. Consumer trust, confidence, satisfaction and loyalty are not even in the top 10 factors for a dealer. Bottom line and how fast they can turnover inventory are all that matters.

I hate the stealership and I hate car sales people, but it is no conspiracy that they will try to rob you blind while telling you to be grateful (unless it's nearing the end of the month). Hence the same reason differences in appearance, engine and many other offerings vary from country to country or even state to state. The ONLY thing they factor in is the bottom line.

Prove me wrong.

It's so sad that so many people feel this way and believe it is true, especially in the USA. EVERYTHING is negotiable and to pay MSRP is just stoooooopid. You use 10 points under MSRP as a starting point. I work in the industry and the discounts you can ger are way beyond what you would imagine if you're just willing to walk away. Just. Walk. Away.
Let them call you, 1, 2, 3 weeks later. Towards the end of the month, the end of quarter. Don't let THEM dictate the price.

I don't care if I were a billionaire, I would NEVER pay MSRP for a vehicle. Above MSRP is clown world. But, because the vast majority accept it as common and right, America and the world gets raped on new and used vehicle prices.

Congrats! Now the wait....

Happy with the mandatory add-ons (things you might have ordered/installed anyway)?

I was allowed to add/remove anything that was PIO on the build sheet, so what you're seeing is after I made the changes to the original build sheet that was sent to me. The only thing I didn't ask for is the tow tech package, but not a deal breaker for only $400. Can't make any changes to FIO line items. Ackerman Toyota is also selling at MSRP and their only dealer fee is $200 admin, so the price in the sheet is pretty much exactly what I'll pay.

Good for you man you got this thing specced exactly as you want then.

BTW about the tow tech package -- you may have already seen this but it looks like any 4Runners built without the tow package will not come prewired with the factory trailer brake controller harness.

See https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/trailer-brake-controller-prewiring.2385/

And it's basically impossible to retrofit install the factory Toyota wiring harness apparently (which I posted about here) so an aftermarket trailer brake controller becomes the only solution.

See https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...troller-diy-how-to-install-instructions.2351/

Anyways just in case you didn't know and were possibly going to install trailer brake controller in the future.

No towing planned for me aside from a little utility trailer every once in awhile. No integrated brakes on it, though.
