Judging by the thread Bike Rack installed on 6th gen - post your setups we've got plenty of bike enthusiasts here.

I ride both road and mountain bikes, but overall more on my road bike. Road bike is Pinarello Dogma and just ordered a new mountain bike (Specialized Chisel Full Suspension).

What's everyone else riding?

Love the matching black Spealized bikes. Curious - did you consider the Tarmac at all when buying the Aethos? I briefly cross shopped them previously. Held off on buying for now, but still interested.

Thank you! I am a Specialized homer.

I did, I was somewhat looking into an SL7 at the time, and to some extent a Giant TCR. I really wasn’t looking too closely at the Aethos. I recently stopped road racing after 10ish years, so truthfully my priorities and wants changed. The non-integration/serviceability and the understated look of the frame won me over.

Ride wise, it’s plenty stiff for me, I’m a decent sprinter and I’ve never felt the bike to be too flex-y. It’s compliant as hell, feels really alive, precise, and I can still ride an aggressive position on it to be slippery when I need to. It hit a really nice sweet spot for me. The SL8 probably narrows the gap a little bit compared to the SL7 perhaps, I think it would be a harder choice today.
