My TRD Sport Premium is will be delivered with Door Edge Guards. I am thinking that I am not going to like the look of these and will want to remove them.

Does anyone have pics of their TRD Sport Premium or any other trim for that matter that has the door guards.

What about post-removal pics? Was it easy, not concern of paint damage, etc.?

I saw some on a Tacoma at the local dealership. I too did not like the idea of the door protectors but, they did not look to obvious or cheap. I'll probably leave them on but, would be interested in knowing how to remove. Also, if you leave them on for a year or two and want to remove, will they leave a mark on the paint after removal.

Here's the OEM Door Edge Guards on Underground SR5. Not mine, so I don't know about removal process.

These look great. Color matched and are good if you park in a garage with another car next to it to help prevent dings. Some dealers will install a 3M clear product instead of the guards and all that does is prevent chipping along the edge and doesn't protect what the door might hit.

So looks like they are colored matched and not clear. I guess they do not look too bad. I asked my dealership to get the port to NOT install them. He is working on that. If he is unsuccessful, I maybe be able to live with them. They are not as obtrusive or obviously looking as I had imagined. Thanks all.

Looking for my first Toyota 4Runner
I’ve had door edge guards on the last 2 cars I purchased. They’re usually just a thin clear film, pretty much PPF. I usually get the dealership to remove the price even though it was already installed.

I have a pretty narrow driveway so I do like the peace of mind that if I accidentally tap the CMU wall when i get out, the guards are there to protect the paint. I dont find then intrusive at all and 99% of the time I don’t even notice them.
