Is there any available information on how wide the actual Factory Wheels are?

I currently have a 2015 TRD Pro and upsized the tires to 285/70/17. The factory wheel is only 7" wide making the tires very tight at the bead. Consequently none of the standard tire shops around me can put their alignment equipment on the wheel for wheel alignments.

2025 4Runners come with some variant of 265/70/18 which (according to wheel specs on Nitto Tire) fits on a 7" wide wheel. I would be looking at the same issue if putting 285/70/18 on the 2025 18" Toyota Wheels if they turn out to only be 7" wide.
I was hoping that In the "far future" we could fit 285/70/17 with current TRD pro bronze wheels. 17" wheels seem to clear in the new Taco. I believe current TRD pro wheels have a 11mm offset.

After seeing what a 285/17 looks like stashed underneath on the new Tacamo, I have concerns the new 4R may also have similar issues. The wheel hangs too low when mounting underneath and with bigger wheels, it's really obvious (and concerning).
Good thinking there. Time will tell and hopefully it works if one is willing to take the penalty "clearance".

So these Upgraded TRD Wheels are different than the TRD Pro wheels?

Thank you so much for responding and confirming.

So, it makes more sense to buy 4 TRD Pro wheels to put larger tires on, then spring up for the TRD Black wheels. Also, it seems like standard ORP spare stays more tucked in under the truck. I know it is not ideal to have different diameter spare, but should get you out of the trail. Eventually I would mount a full size spare vertically inside the cargo compartment.

Why is Toyota putting a tire on the Trail Hunter, Toyo Open Country A/T III All-Terrain 265/70R18 Load Range: SL Serv. Desc: 116T (2,756 lbs ), that has a lower load capacity and ruggedness than the tire they are putting on the Off-Road, Michelin LTX A/T 2 265/70R18 load range E Serv. Desc: 124/121R (3,527 lbs/tire)? It appears the Trail Hunter OEM tire with a SL rating (no internal reinforcement) should not even be used off-road.

Hi everyone,

I'm preparing to buy a 6th gen (my first new car purchase) and would like to have the dealer replace the stock wheels with one of the flat black options I see in this thread. How do I go about this?

Do I bring the dealer a part number and ask for a quote to swap the wheels? Would the upgraded wheels fit the stock tires (assuming the same diameter)? There are a number of similar wheels with different part numbers that I am trying to understand.

I'm going to keep digging into forum posts like this one, but I appreciate any input.
