So I haven’t seen anybody post yet about a dashcam install so I thought I would share mine.
I chose to go with the Garmin Mini 3 and bought a plug and play wiring harness from Amazon that will take power from the mirror. Seen videos about this for the 4th gen taco, so I assumed it would work for the 6th gen 4R.
Use some good pressure on the plastic cover behind the mirror, pull out the middle piece, then the larger cover. The larger cover was a challenge. Gotta pop the top portion on both sides then slide down. You can pretty much follow any 4th gen Tacoma dash cam install but here is a picture of the wiring harness plugged into the 10 pin (red arrow). I just stuffed the wiring harness up there and fed the usb through the opening for the mirror.
Finished result, hope this is useful.
