All entrances to the 4R have grab handles except tge drivers side. Not sure why, maybe your supposed to grab the steering wheel. Please enlighten me.

Are any Toyota or after market grab handles that would work and blend in.

Thanks.

it would be extremely hard to refit a grab handle. you would have to alter the airbag under the A pillar to do this since there is no mount points to attach a grab handle to.

until toyota modifies the A pillar to accommodate one. i personally dont like the implementation of the passenger handle myself. i prefer the open grab handle of old times than a cup style grab point.

ORP has the same grab handle location as zgreen showed above for the Pro. I'm still trying to figure out the best sequence of left hand, right hand, grab handle, steering wheel, left foot/right foot and running board, for both entry and exit. The stock running board on the ORP is kind of in the way if you try to bypass it on entry or especially exit, so I guess I'll figure out how to use it. It's kind of like a game of twister: left foot green, left hand red, right hand blue, right leg yellow ;o).

Funny you should mention the sequence of getting in. We took our 4R SR5 out for the first time yesterday. My wife and I took turns driving to get used to it. Its our first Toyota so many differences.

When we got home, we both said we must be doing something wrong when getting in to the drivers seat. It has the oval steps. I am 5’6”, wife is 5’4”. We are going to try different methods of entry. I know, it sound stupid.

We have an F350 that is much taller and get in and out of that much easier. Other car that the 4R is replacing is a Ford Escape. Again, easy in and out.

It seems like the steering wheel is too close to the seat or the seat is too hight. I adjusted tge steering wheel to its highest and least out position.

Hopefully we will settle on a standard entry method soon.
