I bought a 2023 lunar rock ORP so I could sell my 2015 Trail Premium with only 60,000 miles on it to my daughter in Denver to replace her 2002 Honda CRV with 180,000 miles on it. I tried to talk her into a Toyota Highlander Hybrid but she said no, I want a 4Runner like yours. So after thinking about it I thought we're in a better financial position to buy a new vehicle and she saved something like $3000 just in taxes and fees over buying a new one and better insurance rates for her too. It was definitely a win - win, I didn't give it to her but I did give her the family deal
And little did I realize that I'd be getting all these cool new technology features like lane departure warning, adaptive radar cruise control, blind spot mirrors, Apple CarPlay, etc.
I owed her a new set of tires too so after I bought the ORP in the morning we went over to Discount Tire and switched the new wheels and tires onto her TP and I drove back to Durango with the old tires and wheels. Then I was fortunate to find a set of Toyota OEM seven spoke 7.5x17" charcoal off-road wheels from a 2021 Trail Special Edition on Facebook Marketplace that I really like with the lunar rock color! Anyway, enough about me - I'm glad to be here looking at and reading about the 6th generation 4Runners although I don't think that I'll be buying one anytime soon since I just got my new 5th generation last September.
Hello all! Been lurking here a bit but with the new announcements figured it'd be time to register and really pay attention! I've been primarily a Subaru guy for the last few decades. Started with a '04 WRX which evolved into an '06 STi and my current ride has been a 2012 STi i bought brand new and have been driving for the last 12'ish years. In the 4Runner game I had the pleasure of owning a rare 1986 Turbo 4Runner (shown below) that i picked up as a rock crawler / hobby SUV. Was a great truck and heavily modified from the previous owner and i took down alot of trail and camping time with it. I ended up selling it to another guy i trailed with at one of the Colorado "Yota Jams" not long after i got married and our first kid showed up which cut way down on my outdoor adventure time for a bit. Needless to say I've been closely watching the 4Runner the last several years and have been pretty close to pulling trigger on a 5th gen recently but with the way the 6th Gen is sizing up it looks like i'm in the market to trade the old STi for the new new! I love the aesthetic of the 6th gen from the announcements and the drivetrain is right up my alley with the i-force max (which according to the tacoma's MPG numbers is getting better MPG than my STi does currently). Glad to be here on the ground floor all!
Couple pictures of my current and previous rides. Still have the STi and the '68 Pontiac
Hello everyone. Like most people here, I have been anxiously waiting for the 6th gen announcement for what seems like years.
I had purchased a brand new TRD OR premium with KDSS back in 2021 and even at that time I thought surely a new model would be out for 2022 as the 5th gen was already quite old.
I do also own both a 1995 second gen and a 1999 third gen 4Runner that I enjoy from time to time.
I think a supersonic red TRD OR premium or, (fingers crossed) a supersonic red TRD Pro would be my first choice, but that may change as Iโm quite intrigued by the 4Runner Trailhunter. Unique exterior/interior colors often guide my final decision.
