Has anyone mounted the rear dash cam yet? does the 5th gen mounts work?

I did the @Wolfbox G900 pro with the rear camera mounted on the exterior just under the liftgate spoiler. ​

Mounted slightly off to the driver-side to be away from the rear wiper, and also slightly towards the rear glass so that there's some coverage from direct sunlight and rain hitting the lens. Unlike the video, I simply used the included double-sided tape for mounting. Eventually I will utilize the screw and locking nut method used in the video.​

Removing the spoiler is easy, just open the rear gate and there's 4 round rubber covers with i believe 10mm bolts inside. Remove the 4 bolts and the spoiler lifts up enough (don't have to remove it like the 5th gen video) to run the cable and follow the video instructions on running it through the existing cable bundles and into the cabin.​

I will say the spoiler on the 6th gen was easier to remove than the 5th gen for running the camera wire.

I have a 3 camera system but haven't mounted the rear camera yet. Mine has to be mounted inside so I'll need to find some sort of bracket (and the lens has to hang down a bit lower than the top middle of the rear window due to the windshield wiper pivot point being in the way at the very top).

For routing the cable for the rear cam, I'm wondering if you can remove the ceiling console panel and insert a fish rod or tape that will make it all the way to the rear headliner trim above the liftgate so I could then attach a pull string to it and pull a much shorter USB-C cable front to back, down the middle of the roof, without all the prying and wedging that you need to do when you route the rear cam cable along the sides above the top of the doors and pillars. Anyone tried that (no moonroof on mine)?

For those that are ok with mounting the rear view camera inside the cabin, there is a mount that utilizes the plastic push pin in the headliner to hold the mount to the ceiling, along with double-sided tape. I was considering this option, but i've read the rear glass tint and rain drops provided a lower quality view versus mounting the camera on the exterior.

Update:
I did end up reinforcing the mount for the rear camera using the method in the youtube video. Went to my local hardware store and found a screw, washer, and nut; and now the camera is very secure.

One thing to note, this morning i suddenly have no signal coming from the rear camera. It doesn't even show up on the screen as if it doesn't exist. Checked all connections and I had even sealed the reverse wire after reading all the comments online about those who do not connect the red reverse wire being exposed and triggered by moisture. I've emailed @Wolfbox customer service and will see what happens...

Customer service was great and fast! Turns out the video connector plug came loose due to the cable being run too tight. Made some adjustments, resealed the plug with electrical tape, and BOOM, back up and running! All good

I will say that there was no hesitation for them to ask if I needed a replacement. They stand by their products.

I am having a crazy time trying to get the spoiler / back plastic off. Does the black plastic on the outside just pop off with clips? Or do I need to remove the spoiler? Ive gotten a few things to loosen up on the plastic itself but going into the corners feels like its gonna snap.

Also I am assuming you mean the 4 bolts on the spoiler under the rubber covers and then the other bolts? Tried just doing the 4 under the covers and that thing is still on there lol.

I am having a crazy time trying to get the spoiler / back plastic off. Does the black plastic on the outside just pop off with clips? Or do I need to remove the spoiler? Ive gotten a few things to loosen up on the plastic itself but going into the corners feels like its gonna snap.

Also I am assuming you mean the 4 bolts on the spoiler under the rubber covers and then the other bolts? Tried just doing the 4 under the covers and that thing is still on there lol.

The black plastic piece just under the rear wiper pops right off. Start by pulling down (gently) with the lift gate closed, the right side of the piece just under the wiper motor.

For the spoiler, after you remove the 4 bolts located under the black rubber grommets, it give it enough opening to run the cable through. You don't have to remove it in order to run the cabling.
