I picked up my new 4R6G yesterday. I inspected it off the truck and then the dealer had to do some service checks and the mandatory detail and ceramic treatment. They did a pretty shitty job as I see finger and hand prints on it or it was staff hanging out putting their hands on it. Anyways, I like to wax each panel on my cars as it also allows me to inspect for damage or imperfections.
My question is - As they supposedly applied a ceramic coating, do I need to wait before putting wax on the car. I typically use McGuiers Ultimate, it's a liquid wax that has worked well for me over the years. Are there any other ceramic coating issues I should be aware of?
Google and AI results are mixed. Most saying waxing is not needed, some saying it can damage the ceramic coating and others say waxing enhances the shine on top of a ceramic coating. Polish is however not recommended.
Looking for opinions from detail experts.
Thanks.
