KO2 Tires (285/70/17) installed on SR5

Just got BFG KO2 285/70/17 tires put on and air dam taken off.

The tires are not rubbing, my tire guy checked as thoroughly as he could to make sure it wasn't rubbing. I'm not sure if they will start to rub, if it isn't rubbing now?

I really like the upgrades.

Update:
The ride quality is still very smooth, I can't tell much of a difference with the ride or steering.

What brand/model tires are the 285/70R17 on your SR5 now? How's the ride quality and steering feel with the new tires?

They are BFG All terrain KO2
The ride quality is still very smooth, I can't tell much of a difference with the ride or steering.

Nice ride! Any rubbing? Have you had it at full steer? Curious because I put the 275/70/R18 KO3s on mine and I'm rubbing.. Mainly feels like it's the front mud guards.

I haven't noticed rubbing. My tire guys turned it at a full steer and said they didn't see that it would rub.
Although, would I feel it rubbing while I'm driving? I don't know that answer but would like to know if I can?
My hubby said, we'd need to check them in a few weeks and there will be visual evidence on the tires if they are rubbing.

Looks great! Have you noticed difference on the mpg and speedometer readings? I checked mine after installilng 1" diameter larger tires on my SR5 and my mpg reading is now off about 2mpg and speedometer is reading 2mph too fast when going 60mph

I haven't noticed but honestly, I haven't thought of that. How would I check that without a speed gauge, like the cops have. Sorry if that's a silly question, I just don't know.

For the speedometer, you can compare it to what your gps/navigation is saying - I checked on numerous occasions and at 60mph my gps (Waze navigation) always says 58. I also have a speed app on my phone which is saying the same.

For mpg I reset my trip miles after filling up, then after about 100 miles I refilled the tank and divided the gallons it took to fill back up by the miles I just drove to get my mpg - when I did that I got 22mpg vs 20mpg on the car mpg reading. It also made sense because I was getting 22mpg on the car mpg reading before the new tires (I assume the new tires reduced the mpg a bit, but seems like not a lot).

You might also not notice until the suspension gets maxed out (for example, while off-roading). Let us know if you do notice issues.

Amazing look! Are you running a full size spare tire? Does it fit underneath the vehicle and can you share some pictures?

The KO2 is a great tire. I have them on my 2019 Wrangler. I did a similar upgrade to my Wrangler when I got it. Have done 20k miles on the Wrangler and love the KO2. Not too noisy but really strong in just about all conditions. I have had it off road on trails, in deep snow as well as regular highway miles and it has done a great job. I really don't know why Toyota (and Jeep for that matter) don't offer a similar tyre upgrade. They could charge $1000-$1500 and they would get a huge uptake and it would be almost all profit. For Jeep it's the standard tire on the Rubicon so they know it works.

This is exactly what I would do if I get the 4Runner 6th Gen. which I'm seriously considering.

I am not, not right now. So, I don't know if it will fit. I have the original as a spare. When I do it I'll update.
