Curious how many Trailhunter buyers actually need or want a "snorkel". Who crosses deep enough streams or bombs through the desert in their 70k SUV? It's a genuine question -- not hating at all. I live on the East Coast and I can't think of any places it makes sense.

I wouldn't need or want the snorkel and would actually try to remove it if possible.

The snorkel does nothing for crossing water. The only real scenario that I heard where the raised air intake would make sense is driving with friends in a convoy across sandy dusty deserts. The snorkel would avoid a lot of the dust from the cars ahead of you being sucked into your air filter.

I think most people (including me) would buy the Trailhunter for the looks and the fact that you can do pretty much everything without having to spend extra money or time to buy and install accessories like lift kits, skid plates, light bars, air compressor and such. And everything is under Toyota warranty, that is a huge value in itself.

The sounds is annoying after a while. I will probably remove it and place a cap over it
