Thank you for the info. Yeah, after reading and replied to the OP, I sent about 15 emails last night to the dealerships within 500 miles of me. Interestingly, Idaho dealers are saying that because this vehicle is in demand, they won't sell it to anyone outside their "zone." Ok..... :)
I guess that is understandable. I wasn't going to go out 500 miles to buy a vehicle, so I actually limited my search to about 160 miles out, not 250 miles.

One person on this forum indicated they are locked in on an Invoice price deal with a dealership in North Dakota that will only offer that deal to people within 100 miles of them, which again, I get it.

Update - just got a call from a dealer (family owned in Idaho surprisingly) who said for $1K, I can be #2 on the waitlist but expected actual arrival date is anywhere between 3-9 months. I think I'm gonna jump on it.

Nice! Why not?! Is the $1k refundable if you decide not to take it? Is it against the final purchase price?

It is refundable and if you decide to move forward, they apply it to the price of the vehicle.

Ahhh, good point and thanks for the picture! I'll have to have a think on it...
Yea, not sure why it is not mounted on the passenger side... It would be much less obstructive there...

Sounds like a good deal man! Do they have any allocated yet?

Thanks again for the advice last night. I jumped on and sent 15 emails out to all dealers within 500 miles of me. Only one, replied with that offer. The rest said they either don't sell (a new build) to people outside their "zone" or because the vehicle has not gone into production yet were just not interesting in speaking with me. In fact, most tried to sell me a TRD or base model.. and not even in the color I want! HA!HA!

No, he said that they won't really know who gets what and how many for at least a couple months. He didn't want to over promise on anything which I totally repsect.

My salesperson just confirmed the build is starting today and it scheduled to arrive towards the end of March. I still have some time to change out the PIOs, which I've already done a few times. The others that you don't see above are: integrated dash cam and the side storage lantern. I'll keep this post update with any new news that comes by way. Thanks!

Quick update... Just received an email from my sales guy and he said the TRD Pro was built yesterday, and is now awaiting to get loaded onto the transport ship to Portland. He is going to let me know when it's loaded on the ship. The countdown begins!

zhreen, just wondering if your salesman mentioned if they were going to add any dealer markups? I would get this in writing to sell it at MSRP. Once that Black TRD Pro shows up at the dealership they will have you by the ballz. They own it and they will know it’s value, so adding a $5,000 + markup will be tempting for them. It will be hard for you to walk away from it especially when they tell you they have a list of other people waiting to buy it. They call them “Stealerships” for a reason. Good luck brother, cant wait to see photos!

Hey Billy. Maybe they just do it differently in MT, but this dealership only charged MSRP and I do have that in writing, thankfully. They have a policy to not markup their vehicles, which is pretty great. I was also looking at the GX 550 Overtrail and every Lexus dealership I called was charging $10-$15k over. Unreal and yes, stealing for sure man.

Afternoon! Thought I'd give ya an update as to progress. I stopped by the dealer this morning to say hello to my sales guy and check on the process of the TRD Pro. The good news is that it's showing that it was loaded onto the shipping vessel and making its way to Portland! We'll see how long it will all actually take, but it's saying an arrival at the dealership between March 8th and March 29th. Based on the progress bar in the picture, it will be the later part of March before it's ready to go...

Also, I just really paid attention to the VIN and its pretty low number, like below 410. I am a tad concerned about it being that much of a new build. Should I be? Any thoughts?
