Okay, admittedly I'm a newbie to off-road. Planning to buy a 2025 TRD Pro. Seems that mudguards might be good for the street, but only something to get broken off-road. Am I right about this?

Might break, I've not had that concern nor heard of anyone breaking mudguards. They can however stop you from kicking up rocks into you paint while on the trail.

Hey Bernie,

I’ve got a TRD Pro coming next month and it had mud flaps as a Port Installed Option. I had the dealer remove them from the order, as I thought I’d just add them later if I thought I really needed them. There might be some aftermarket options as well. I’ll keep you posted!

As for your TRD Pro, do you have a deposit on one?

the oem ones are really too stiff for off roading.

better to get pliable off road brands than the oem.

i had bought the oem mudguards on our 23 tundra but they are really stiff. removed them and got some $$$ rekgen's

PSA -- if the 4Runner OEM mudguards / mudflaps are like the Tacoma's, there's a difference between the US and Canada versions. Many owners have opted to fit the Canadian OEM mud flaps because they're bigger and provide more protection coverage.

Here's a side by side comparison between the OEM US mudguards vs. Canadian mudguards vs. aftermarket (Muslogy)

The LC also has the mud flaps and in the many YouTube videos of it off roading you can see that it's very flexible. Even rock crawling it'll just bend back then pop right back into place.

dam canucks always get the better protection bits than the usa.

had to find a dealer up in manitoba for a canadian bug shield for my 04 4R that you couldnt get in the usa.

the canuck version had coverage that extend all the way down the V section between the lights and grille, the usa version stopped about 1/2 way down (wtf)

The LC has mud flaps. Hopefully, the 4Runner will be offered it, as well. See attached picture.

Do we think these might fit? I did not have the dealer put on mud flaps and after a few rainy days I can see how the spray hits the driver door and feel something is needed.

Rok Blokz mud flaps

I emailed them and this is the response I got back

This is a fitment we’re super excited about but haven’t been able to start working on it, as we haven’t been able to get a 2025+ 4Runner into our shop yet. We know how popular and loved this fitment will be and have been looking for a test vehicle to develop it. Do you know of any in Utah County that would be available for a day or two of testing?

In the meantime, would you like me to add you to our contact list for this fitment release? Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!

Thank you,

Lynn
