I just picked up my new 4R6G. I registered the app and connected services at the dealer. I got an email from AT&T offering a $20 a month plan ($5 off regular) if I sign up within 2 days of activation. Has anyone done this?

It might be useful as I have a 1GB data family plan with Xfinity (low cost). Might help with Apple Maps.

I question the conditions and cancellation terms if I no longer want or need it.

Any advice and experience with this service would be appreciated.

Is that the wifi service they offer with these vehicles or just one that reached out? This will be my first vehicle with modern technology! HA!

It’s like using your phone as a hot spot. Could be good for kids streaming movies. But to be honest. If going on a road trip we just download a bunch from Netflix and prime so no connection needed.

Its Toyota related. When you buy, you get trial of all the services. The HotSpot service is free for 30 days. The offer is giving you a discount on the normal $25 a month.

For most folk with a regular cellular data plan, its probably not needed but we are on a limited family plan of 1 gb between 4 people. It works as we are home or connected to wifi most of the time.

I might try it for a few months inless they want a commitment before canceling.

1 GB data for 4 people is wild in today's world. Watching about an hour of a 1080p YouTube video not on WiFi is 1 GB. Color me impressed.

Been doing it for years. Previously on republic wireless, $10 a gig. Xfinity mobile was previously $12 a gig but increased to $20 with the 5g rollout. They ride on Verizon so good connectivity.
