Got ceramic tint on the front today and the shop owner was kind enough to delete the TRD logo for me (at no added charge).

I personally hate the TRD hype, so it had to go. I decided to keep “Off road”. Required steam and some extra work to get the adhesive off.

The black paint is unacceptably soft— it scratches just looking at it.

If anyone is looking for a reliable shop around Atlanta for tint, PPF, ceramic, etc it’s worth checking out Rollie @ LeJeune Ceramic Coating & Paint Protection

Hey Doug. The ride looks good man! What do you think of the black in person? I have one coming and I'm still on the fence about the color. And the paint is that soft? Hmmmm. Thanks!

I’m really happy with how the black looks in person. Originally, I had a silver on hold but found a significantly better deal on the black and made the switch to a different dealer.

I had a 3rd gen in black that I never washed. The paint on the 6G had some scratches on it straight from the port. To a certain extent, it’s just the nature of black paint. You’re going to see imperfections easier in direct sunlight up close.

My 5th gen was silver and it was scratched all over from the trail yet not obvious because of how well silver hides blemishes.

No regrets on black, but I do wish the clear coat was harder and more robust. Considering a ceramic coat, but even that doesn’t help if the foundational paint is already on the softer side of things.

Thanks for the additional info. Mine is supposed to hit the dealer tomorrow and I'll make sure to check out the paint in detail. I was planning on getting the entire front PPF'd, as well as ceramic, but that stuff adds up! Especially in a small town, where there isn't any competition....
