I'm mostly considering a 4th gen Tacoma or a 6th gen 4Runner. I lean toward the Tacoma's form factor, but some of the missing features may prevent me from buying it. No memory seats is a deal breaker and the lack of rear vents could be considering I live in Oklahoma and have small children. I'm...
Interesting though. However, I can't see them doing something like this that is not soft top. It just makes it too inconvenient to get into the back. Honestly I can't see them doing something like this at all.
I think a big reason you don't see vehicles like this anymore is that the market has...
I actually meant at a tire shop. I know many will pay you for a trade in.
Anyway, regarding the tires, that was kind of where my mind was. The tires on my Forester Wilderness are pretty great and that is what I want to replicate. A light AT with minimal road noise and MPG impact. Still having...
Anyone have experience with switching out brand new wheels and tires? I wouldn't mind paying a little to do it, but I would hope trading in new premium wheels would make up most of the cost to getting me decent 18" wheels and light AT tires.
I very much hate the trend of larger and larger wheels. I agree with others that I would MUCH rather have 18" wheels. I know I and my wife will inevitably have a curb check here and there and the added protection is very nice. The stupid huge wheels just cause more problems.
I've watched the first video already, but not the second. The impression I got from the first one and others was that there were two different design teams that worked together. However, I could absolutely be mistaken.
Knowing how engineering works, there are probably elements of truth to both...
I am kind of surprised they did not have a manual option for the 4Runner after they went to so much trouble to get a manual option in the Tacoma. However, the manual in the Tacoma was a product of the passion of the US design team. The 4Runner design team is in Japan and probably does not have...
If/When I get a Tacoma or 4Runner turning this stuff off is one of the first things I will do. I want my cabin to be a quiet as possible. That is why I would not consider buying an SUV that was not permanently enclosed like a Wrangler or Bronco.

No idea for the 4Runner specifically, but I very much think it will be the same as it is on the Tacoma. For the Tacoma, yes there is fake engine noise pumped into the cabin. However, there is also a setting that can be changed via the OBD2 interface to turn it off. This can be done by the dealer...

Note, I now think I'm wrong. Read the follow up conversations to my post you quoted and you will see that my reasoning was mistaken. I too am now hopeful we will get other trims in the new Everest color.
I think the KBB numbers might be a little low, but not much IMHO. Just a grand or two. However, that would be for non-hybrid trims only. Obviously the hybrid trims will cost more. Also, Toyota is adding a lot of standard features to the hybrid trim that the equivalent non-hybrid trim does not...
That won't be the case for the new model as they changed the way the 2nd row seats work. The back folds onto the base rather than the base folding forward the back folding flat. The 2nd row does tumble forward, but that is not enough room to sleep in. You either have to remove the 2nd row or...
Note the Hybrid versions of those trims are adding way more than just the hybrid drivetrain. They Hybrid trims have many more standard features. For example, the Tacoma Hybrid Limited has Full-Time 4WD when the non-hybrid does not. For equivalent features the added cost of the Hybrid should not...
Though I thought the last Youtube video estimates were too low, these prices are WAY too high. Specifically that Platinum price is WAY WAY WAY too high. The platinum (at least with what they have announced) offers very little over the limited hybrid. I'm guessing it won't be $2-3K more than the...
I definitely agree with this. That said, I think it look WAY better on the 4Runner/Tacoma than on many of the vehicles that are out there right now. There is much less of a seperation between it and the dash so it is not nearly as obvious. Behind it could be a nice place to stash certain things.
Well, for a much larger people mover they already have the Sequoia and Grand Highlander now. I agree though they should have made the non-hybrid available in the US and let there be a third row. Specifically I notice that it has overhead A/C. I was really hoping the 4Runner would get that and...
