I wouldāve assumed the same transmission in both, as well as the Land Cruiser. Surprised though how little info Iām pulling up on google to confirm that or show where theyāre made. Theyāre all 8sp, the Tacoma has a AL80 if I read right. But not a lot of info there.
This could probably be its own fun thread. I thought this would be an easily googleable answer, but with lists like the Ford F-150 & Suburban, google answers arenāt what I mean. Like you, Iād like to know the longest running cars based on a single model (perhaps with refreshes), which might be...
https://www.tacoma4g.com/forum/threads/anyone-running-89-or-91-octane.3590/. I thought you could use regular in the Tacoma? Which really does make me wonder which recommendation the 4R might follow. Maybe full time 4WD as you suggest is a contributing factor.
That almost makes sense. Your taxes are high in BC. Thatās about what a Trailhunter is here having just seen one advertised. Maybe just under what a LC Premium goes for. Here everything remotely desirable is usually left off the dealer website & put on marketplace for 10K of ADM. I canāt...
Gotta say I really like most all the forums for any make/model this consortium has. Easy to read & use, but they seem to attract a nice audience full of mature discussion too.
Iām curious to see just what the price difference might be & ultimately what the feature differences for that price wind up being. Saying I want it all & going Platinum is easy until you have to pay for it. Then the value of saving a few bucks looks pretty good.
Iām certainly curious to check both out & evaluate from there. Since I donāt need to rush on a decision I can afford to wait until both are available on the lot. I think either would make a fine choice.
Sorry, I realize now the pic isnāt very clear if you havenāt been in one. The button on the bottom right turns off the screen. Is this not something found on other cars? Does the screen have to be on all the time? Or does it dim with other dash lighting how cars used to be? I just donāt...
Front seat & yes I fear youāre right. Iām probably expecting a bit much out of the midsize class, wanting full size truck room. I didn'tā try any of the back seats, the dog would be happy enough riding back there. I think going & test driving a Tacoma is the best bet youāre right. That...
Shopping for a āforeverā, or at least long term, road trip vehicle. So not surprising the 25 4R came on my radar.
So hereās my consideration list, all armchair so far, havenāt experienced anything in person yet, though I need to in order to get a good feel for long distance comfort. Whether...
I read the part where thereās 6ā difference in height. If thatās accurate, I still canāt see there being 6ā difference in headroom. But maybe?
It may not be all that bad. $5K on top of 67 is 72 & a few bucks for the platinum it might come in around $75K? Say that quick & it almost sounds cheap! But thatās meaningfully less than $83K for the top end LC (discounting the FE), giving them some price differentiation even at the top end.
Anything Iāve seen so far suggests the hybrid battery goes where the 3rd row would be, so itās an either/or choice. Not known for sure yet of course, but it seems to make sense when you consider the GX can be had with a 3rd row while the LC cannot (at least not in N.America).
Hmm.. I was initially confused thinking his count of 5 was only considering Toyota branded vehicles, but the lead shot shows both a LC & a GX without the 4R of course. Which also eliminates the possibility that heās considered the GX & LC as one so thereās reallyā¦
Of course that also discounts...
That would definitely be a major contributor to the difference youāre feeling. I had BOF pickups for most of my life & only in the last 8? Years have gotten into unibody SUVs. That feel youāre describing int he Tacoma Iāve come to determine I prefer. Rear drive alone feels hugely different in...
