  1. 4Runner won't have a frame mounted bump stop (just like the Tacoma)

Toyota engineers need to go overlanding and drive the south Cal swoops so they have a better understanding of how to design and built reliable and bullet proof trucks.
  2. Bought a 5 Gen 4Runner TRD OFF ROAD 2024

Tacoma and 4runner can not be compared quality/raliabilty wise since the 4runner is built in the Tahara factory in Japan. The Tahara factory is Toyta's best factory. It is the same factory where LC 200 was built. The same factory where LC 250/300, and Lexus LX/GX are built. The Tacoma is built...
  3. Is the Trailhunter configured well enough?

If I were to get one, I would lift it to fit 35" tires. That means changing the suspension, UCA, tires. Wheels may need to go if it needs a different offset. It is not a good investment to pay premium price to change a lot of what you are paying for. It is always better to get a TRD OR and...
  4. Transmission overheating in the new Tacoma

I watched a couple of videos about it and it looks pretty bad. A similar situation happened with the 2017 camry when the new model was released. It had transmission failures that were corrected for the following year model. The problem for new Tacoma owners is that there are no transmissions...
  5. Nonhybrid i-Force engine getting up to 30 mpg on highway in the Tacoma

Yes! That should be the min. I have read articles recomending to refill at 1/2 tank just as prevention with the incertaties we see today. I am used to refill at 1/4 tank but sometimes I do it at 1/2 specially if out traveling out of town.
  6. Nonhybrid i-Force engine getting up to 30 mpg on highway in the Tacoma

Maybe but I would think that less weight has an impact. I have noticed that myself on my 5th gen 4runner There are other aspects that affect mpg avg like road condition, wind direction, speed, weight, etc. Hard to figure out. Notice he said he was driving 90/100 mph and we know that there is a...
  7. Nonhybrid i-Force engine getting up to 30 mpg on highway in the Tacoma

It looks to me he was driving on fumes. Look at the gas tank indicator on the right side of the screen cluster. The light is on and there is a very short white line on tank capacity indicator. Am I wrong?
  8. 6th Gen 4Runner vs. 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st Gen -- exterior & interior comparison

I have not seen anything myself but I saw a reference on TFL. I am sure Nissan will bring it back maybe next year after the 4runner is out. I guess we will have to wait and see.
  9. 6th Gen 4Runner vs. 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st Gen -- exterior & interior comparison

Except for making it look like a Tacoma on the front. That is a very bad move. All to save money but interestingly the prices have gone up substancially as we can see with Tacoma pricing. Specially compared to other makers. We should expect the same type of prices or even a bit more for the...
  10. Trailhunter Hybrid Engine Turbo Noise

Not sure but I can tell that cabins are not super insulated. I do not think they put a sound barrier between the engine bay and the cabin (firewall) However, I have never seen the firewall exposed from the inside.
  11. Trailhunter Hybrid Engine Turbo Noise

Same engine on TRD Pro. Same noise. Typical of turbos
  12. Preview Looks: 2025 4Runner 6th Gen TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport, SR5 Trim

I really don't like how close to the Tacoma, Sequoia, etc., it looks at the front. The 5th gen has a very distinct look at the front from any other toyota model
  13. Specs Comparison: 2025 4Runner vs Land Cruiser -- size / dimension, powertrain, towing, ground clearance, approach / departure / breakover angle

And want a fultime 4 wheel drive. Another aspect is the features offered on the 4R /LC compared to the GX 550 Toyota could not get the LC 300 to sell in the US so they added most of the offroad features to the GX 550 In other words, if you want the best offroad capabilities you have to pay...
  14. Specs Comparison: 2025 4Runner vs Land Cruiser -- size / dimension, powertrain, towing, ground clearance, approach / departure / breakover angle

With such similar specs I cannot see any justification to spend +/- $10K extra to get a LC. If the LC comes with the V6 then it would be worth it. Getting an LC V6 instead of paying +/- 10K to get the same angine in the GX 550 At that point you are paying for luxury items. I find toyota...
