91 octane here. In sport mode 100% of the time and floor it everywhere I can. Usually between 18.5 and 19 mpg.

Maybe a couple grand. The hybrid system is just as reliable as the transmission. If you are worried about something that has a longer warranty than the rest of the drivetrain you arent thinking things through clearly.

You realize how cheap a hybrid battery replacement will be in 10 years?

Tundra has a 3" TRD suspension and it is amazing. Comes with forged UCAs, upgraded knuckles, longer front axles, beefier end links, tie rod sleeves, and of course longer shocks and taller springs. Does not drive like it is lifted at all. So I would bet the 4runner version will be just as nice.

I have changed my own oil 100s of times over the last 25 years. I always follow the hand tight + 1/2-3/4 turn. Never once had a leak.

You realize Toyota has been building hybrid vehicles for 30 years right? This isnt a hybrid problem. It is a battery or a dumb dealer tech doing something wrong problem.
