A 4 banger with more HP and torque than the 5th gen 6 cylinder.
How about a modern v6 with more hp than the 4 banger sure would be sweet. Give us a choice would be nice also.

Oh, well then give it a supercharger rather than a turbocharger...

The non-hybrid turbo-4 in the new Tacoma already delivers 22% more torque than my JK's 3.6L, and the hybrid? A whopping 79% more. Sure, many of us dream of a V-8, but when you compare that to my JK's 260 ft-lbs at 4,800 RPM struggling up a mountain grade, I’ll happily take the extra torque and call it a win.

It’s all relative.

The hybrid adds power and torque without impacting fuel efficiency. That's more choice than we had with the 5th gen.

I love this color so much, but the Trailhunter package is just too much for me. Give me a TRD Off Road Premium with SDM in Everest, the Trailhunter wheels, and the Trailhunter fender flares. Done. Perfect spec (assuming the TH wheels don't lean on the TH suspension mods to not rub... they are a pretty aggressive offset versus the stock TRDOR).

It seems that some people cannot accept change or might be a bit insecure about themselves as it relates to the size of their motor, or a little bit of both. If the old 4Runner had 100 cylinders and through technological advances, the geniuses in the motor laboratory created an engine with only 80 cylinders, but with more HP and torque, some people will just not be able to accept that. Four and six, they are just numbers of cylinders, what matters is the end result.

I've owned a few Ford Mustangs, seven to be exact. Four of them were GTs - V8s (one had performance camshaft, long-tube headers, CAI, etc.), two of them were 6 cylinders and now, my current Mustang is 4-cylinder eco-boost and guess what, it outperforms the prior six Mustangs I've owned.

But wouldn't you rather have this one with a twin turbo six?

It is not possible for the heavier hybrid with the same turbo four to have better or equal HIGHWAY fuel efficiency as the non-hybrid...unless of course the EPA intentionally gives hybrids an unfair rating. Its just simple physics.

Unfortunately this georgeous EverRest color is only available on the Trailhunter, so you can only get it with the electrified hybrid.
