Congrats to @Sandiii on your Platinum reservation at Groove Toyota of Englewood, CO!
It sounds like they are trying to lock you in to buying from them, even if they cannot get you the exact vehicle you are looking for and require you to pay for things that you really do not want (protection packages and the like), or of course, you forfeit your deposit. Me personally, I am not doing business with any dealer that is requiring me to give them a deposit or sign a contract, but for others, it works for them.First time poster on here. The info on this site is incredibly helpful. I have a question about something I have not seen mentioned yet. I have contacted a dealer here in northern Virginia about putting a deposit down and they said to come in and put the deposit down and “sign a contract”. Is that normal procedure for a situation like this? I have not yet asked whether it is refundable or not. Thanks for any insight before we actually do it.
Hard to know what he means by "contract." I doubt it could be a very formal / detailed contract without a vehicle even identified (with VIN and all). So it could possibly something as simple as a deposit slip / receipt.First time poster on here. The info on this site is incredibly helpful.
