If any car dealer has the brass cojones to tell you what you must buy (It's "mandatory"), remind them that it's NOT mandatory that you buy there, then turn around and walk away. They tend to become much more flexible after that. People forget that they have the money and options. The consumer (that's YOU) drives the market.

My dealer in Madison, WI sent me a note that they do not have any information on release date nor do they have any price information. They do NOT take any deposits until after this firms up and Toyota announces they are accepting dealership orders.

For those of you giving ANY money to dealers I think you're getting screwed out of interest earned etc.

Early on the dealers will drive the market, as there's going to way fewer vehicles available relative to demand. If you walk, the next customer will take the deal irrespective of cost. No question there will be premium pricing when the new model arrives. If you want to avoid the mark-ups it might be a while until supply and demand are balanced..

Way to go newbie (dealer). No they aren't. They will supply plenty to drive revenue and shareholder value. You don't limit supply to drive revenue. They will be more than profitable at MSRP and below.
Not initially.
There’s lists of people wanting the new 4R, and if the first guy doesn’t want it, they’ll go to the next. It’ll take a few months to get past the initial demand.
Example LC is just now catching up preexisting demands in Washington. Other areas may have more availability.

I have been waiting on the new 2025 4-Runner. I thought at first I would go with the new Land Crusier. After seeing the LC in person it looked to be a very nice vehicle but a little too exterior Boxy looking for my liking. For me the new 4-Runner has a better look with 95% of the same features. Hope to see the pricing and exact options soon.
I also was interested in the Cruser, but the small gas tank, poor mpg and premium fuel requirement discouraged me. I got tired of waiting for a new 4Runner in 2022 and sold my 2006, got a 2022 Hybrid Highlander which does 99% of what I want while averaging 32.5 mpg on regular fuel. I'm interested in the new 4Runner, and had that been available in 2022 I would have bought it. At this point I'm afraid the tradeoffs may not justify switching from my Highlander. I expect mpg similar to the LC, maybe +2 mpg and regular fuel, but specs are likely the same as the Tacoma. I like my 500 mi range with the Highlander :)

I'd imagine the 4Runner will be similar to the Taco, 20/24, 18/23 for the OR, or the i-force with 22/24. I think if you are enjoying your mpg on the Highlander hybrid, you'll likely be disappointed with the mpg of the new 4Runner. Sure, it'll be better than the 17/19, but not by leaps and bounds.

It'll be highly dependent on what tires you run. Run em big and wide, not so good. Stay with OEM or more street oriented tread, much better.

et2041, which dealer in Madison? I'm hoping to get a 2025 4Runner, and have had good experiences at a west side dealer, but would love to hear your insights and opinions.

I keep hearing from different dealers, gas first hybrid second. But, honestly take that for a grain of salt until it becomes official.

I have heard that the LC sales are OK, but not as brisk as they thought it would be.

I think that demand has indeed caught up, that the new model or car bubble is on the other side. It looks like they sold more this launch, then they did in 2021 (3700 sold) US figures. The question will be, how many 2025s will sell considering the 4R launch?

Talked to the wife last night and she's ready to put down a deposit. Any dealer recommendations in the Tulsa, OK area?
Forgot to follow up. After pricing came out I let my salesman know at Jim Norton the exact color I wanted with no dealer add-ons including protection packages with film. He said that’s okay. I’ll see if they keep that expensive small protection package off.

Thanks for following up!
Our purchase date got bumped a bit. Now she has me building her a new house, so the 4runner will have to wait until fall/winter 2025....

I’m nearly in that pickle too. New house build hopefully beginning of next year. Best of luck!
