Interesting... can anyone tell me the differences then (besides the blackout) between the Platinum and Limited? Both postings here seem to indicate they have the same factory installed accessories. I guess the limited and platinum both have whatever the "tow tech package" is?

From the press release

I'm curious to see what the price difference is between them for rear heated seats, HUD, and wipers.
Well, it is almost exactly $2,000. I'm not sure if that would be worth it to me if I decide I don't care about the hybrid ($5,000 diff without hybrid). I might have to sit in both and see what the difference in interior quality felt like. The only feature that I think I might actually miss is the HUD. Maybe the rear heated seats for the kids, but that would be rare.

seems unlikely... there are several other TRD trims available in the 4Runner line so customers can select one of those. The Platinum (and Limited) are the street oriented trims.
That was something they introduced to the tundra later on. Maybe 2024? not sure. They don't do it with the Tacoma and looks like they don't do it here. Who knows if they ever will.

Good looks at the Dark Navy interior on the Platinum trim w/ closeups of the orange stitching. Underground exterior color.

MTS only comes standard on TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro and Trailhunter. Not optional for any other trim.

That’s very disappointing. Just when I thought I was close to making up my mind on what trim to get. smh

Gen 5 Limited was basically a street machine, that could handle light off-roading. The Gen 6 Limited and Platinum trims are also basically street machines. The Gen 6 offers 4 off-road oriented models, with 3 of them offering upgraded appointments/options. Doesn't really make much sense for any off-road features on the Limited or Platinum.

We want a road trip suv, I prefer truck frames, and we don't do much off-roading any more, so the Platinum trim should suit us well. I already have an off-road oriented truck with off-road terrain select and crawl control, for any trips we want to do with off-road excursions.

We had considered the LC, but NO front passenger lumbar nixed that one. Then we put down multiple deposits on the GX 550 Overtrail + to get the options we wanted and because we liked the look WAY more than the other GX trims. But with less and less off-roading and more highway road trips, the Overtrail + gave us way more "stuff" than we needed, and "forced" a few features we really didn't want, so we re-evaluated and decided the more street oriented 4Runner Platinum should serve our needs best.
