Gulf States Toyota (GST) not releasing 2025 4Runners to dealers yet? [Update: vehicles have arrived now]

Gulf States Toyota is reportedly the only region delaying the distribution of the 2025 Toyota 4Runner, according to a salesperson at Freeman Toyota who contacted me. Dealerships in other regions are still receiving units, but customers in Texas and nearby states may face longer wait times of at least a month. No official statement has been released explaining the delay. Maybe PIO part delays? Anyone know why?

Texas here, and I bought this yesterday.

Don't hate me, but I happened to drive up right after they got it and somehow they didn't presell. I paid sticker (including the GST stuff). They also told me they had no idea when they'd get another one, but thought it would potentially be 2-3 months.

For reference, it's $3213 of GST accessories on mine. Off the top of my head, it's:

- Roof rack
- Steps
- Rubber mats
- Towing hitch (it's still in the box)
- Sealant-type crap
- Connectivity kit (expensive USB cables they didn't give me, so yes I'm going back to get them lol)
- Extra LED lights in the cargo area

I might be forgetting something.

I’m not mad at all. I have a 5th Gen in that color combination, so good choice. It’s timeless and you won’t get tired of it after 3 years. I’m just hoping GST gets the predator steps and crossbars on every delivery out of their system before it’s time for me to buy.

Yeah, adding almost 8% to the MSRP with all of these things is a bit much. The steps are my least favorite part, but my 9 year old likes them.

It's added by the distribution company and not the dealer, so the dealer would have to eat the cost and we all know that's not happening.

My guess is that the distributor charges me $3200, the dealer pays them $2500 for it or so and make an extra $700, and the distributor spent $1500 on the accessories. Something like that is all that makes sense to me anyway. If the 4Runner ever drops in demand, maybe there will be some other options. Selfishly, I hope that never happens lol.

That is something I’ve considered. Luckily I have a local dealer that I trust. I’m working with the sales manager and he claims that they can work with me on what GST installs or doesn’t when they are assigned an allocation. My problem right now is deciding which trim I want. I was 100% committed to a TRD Pro, but I’m now looking more at going with a TRD OR Premium, so I’m thinking I will wait until more 4Runners start to hit dealer lots before making a final decision.

Dealers can make adjustments for loyal buyers. They won’t for random new customers that walk in off the street. That’s how the GST owners make big bucks.
