Update:

So I researched more, purchased a mirror, and installed it. I made a YouTube video of the process... I hope this helps someone...

Here's where I purchased it...

Original post:

Hello! Brand new member here, just purchased a 2025 TRD Sport yesterday. I’ve only driven it a few miles, and so far, it’s fine... but I took a slight downgrade from my current 4-Runner, which is a 2015 SR5 Premium. I’ve given up the sunroof, Softex seating, and, unfortunately, the HOMELINK openers on the rearview mirror.
I want to immediately get a HomeLink opener my new 4Runner. I’ve rigorously searched this forum (for a few hours) and have not been unable to find much regarding upgrading this feature. The dealer did NOT have any options for me.
I have found these guys.... https://www.bobsmirrors.com/
But I’m unable to find information regarding the following:

How do you remove the black trim/console around the mounting area of the mirror? It actually
seems a little flimsy, and I really am concerned about breaking it.

Is there a “ready to clip into” power supply so a new HomeLink mirror will be plug and play?
If this has already been covered, my deepest apologies!

Nice job! I feel like having the auto-dimming mirror with home link and the rear power lift gate should be a standard feature in all modern SUVs. It’s like power windows and door locks andinsane that they would only be included in premium trims.

is this the correct link to mirror your purchased.?

Yes, that's the one. But if I were you, I would give them a call and double check. Also, when you have them on the line, make sure you let them know that you saw my post. They're the nicest people, and I'd really like them to know that they're good service with me paid off.
Thanks

Didn't notice your DIY video update until the feature on the homepage. This should be very helpful to owners who didn't get Premium packages.

This is bad ass man! I was looking to upgrade my mirror to have the home link features and auto dimming but couldn’t find anything good. Only options had batteries which I don’t want to deal with.

Call Bob's, they will walk you through all the features you want... frameless, compass, HomeLink, self dimming, etc. They're awesome!
