SE Texas here. Hadn't had a 4Runner since a Gen 2 many years ago. I have a 21 Tundra, and just bought my wife a 25 4Runner TRD Sport Premium Friday night (2/21/25). We look forward to see what you guys will be doing with your G6's and making the most of our new ride.

Glad to be here and thank you for the welcome! I owned a '94 4Runner 5M, 3L V6 from '96 through 2009. Loved it, but through Obama's Cash for Clunkers and the need for better efficiency at the time, I traded it (was given $4750 by CforC) towards a 2009 Honda Fit which I still drive today, as my only vehicle. Would LOVE to get back into a 4Runner (latest generation), just wish there was a manual transmission available! That's my story! Anxious to read about your stories! And have questions.

Hello! Just traded in my 2023 Tacoma TRD ORP for a 2025 4runner offroad. This is my first 4runner!

Congrats. I've always wondered about that switch - from Tacoma to a 4runner. Is it pretty much like driving the same vehicle but with a bed topper cap?

Actually the driving experience has been a lot more different than I expected! the longer wheelbase of the Tacoma felt like my front tire would clear an obstacle before the rear wheel hit it, but the 4runner back tires hit obstacles before the front tires clear so it feels very lurchy and rabbit like, like it hops around, where in my Tacoma i felt like driving a boat and it felt a little more fluid driving over things off roads lol. On roads, the shorter wheelbase is noticeable, and it handles more like Camry than a truck, very smooth and pretty stiff suspension, and the rear wheels track with the front nicely, so it feels impossible to hit a curb with the rear wheels where it was fairly easy in the truck if you didn't wake turns wide

Hello everyone. Just traded in my 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport for my first 4Runner. I got lucky I guess as I went to a Toyota dealer that actually had a TRD Sport 4WD in Underground where the previous buyer had to back out before taking delivery. Loving it so far

It looks great. What kind of tires? They don't look like stock. I like them.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers which is what I had on my Tacoma and love the look and longevity
Nice. I'm getting a Platinum with the same wheel size as your rig. I've been researching at tires that will give me a more aggressive look but are still fairly quiet on the road. I've had my eyes on the Nitto Recon Grapplers, but your Ridge Grapplers also give the look that I'm looking for. Do you have any thoughts on Nitto Recon vs Nitto Ridge? Thanks in advance and congrats on your sweet looking 6th gen!

I’ve never had the Recon but I did have the Ridge Grapplers on my 2017 Tacoma for the last 4 years with no issues at all. I do a lot of driving on the interstate and had no issues with road noise at all. I stayed away from the KO2’s because I heard people complain about road noise on the highway. Hope this helps

Here is a better picture of the tires

Thanks for the picture. This is why I love this forum. This is the exact look that I'm wanting for my upcoming Platinum. I want to keep my 20" wheels, but want a more aggressive look without giving up too much in terms of road noise. Do you have any rubbing issues with the 275/55/R20 tires? I love your rig. It's close to what I'm getting (Underground or Black Platinum). Do you like your wheels? I think the gloss black Platinum wheels would look awesome too.

No rubbing that I have noticed. I’ve only had it since Saturday night tho and only have about 100 miles on it. I do like the wheels with this Underground. Color

The only thing I wish I had was a front camera. Funny enough it looks like it has the camera on the front grille but it’s just a blank. Maybe something I can add in the future

Thanks for your responses and enjoy your rig. There is a place for the front camera because it is standard on the TRD Sport Premium trim. Hang around these 4Runner forums long enough and you'll learn.....there is a mod for everything!
