Currently working with Lasfit right now to get my cars interior scanned to make floor mats available for everyone. They also did a check of all interior and exterior lights and found that the SR5 only has two lonely halogens in the entire vehicle.

Turn signals!

They had the option between amber or switchback (white and amber) available. Dropping a video to compare switchback to halogen.

It’s beyond crazy that Toyota is shipping these with any non-LED bulbs.

I’d have to replace those right away as well.

My 2024 Tacoma Off-road Premium has the Lasfit Amber LED turn signal bulbs, and Taco Vinyl fog light overlays. They run as my DRLs. I took a picture a couple of mornings ago at daybreak.

If you decide to order the fog overlay vinyl, be sure and chat with Taco Vinyl before you order. In order to get the amber color right, they needed to send me a second set.

Hopefully they are changing this to a different role with deeper color.

Thanks. Yea, they match nicely. I also have the switchbacks, but I like this setup better.

I can’t take credit for the discovery. Another member on Tacomaworld did. I’m just a copy cat.

Love your Shepherds color.

How do you run them as DRL? Manually switch the lights to "parking" with fogs?

Yes.

There is also a setting where you have to disable DRL, otherwise the low been headlights run.

At least that’s how it works on my Tacoma Off-road. Someone will need to confirm on the 4Runner. This will obviously be null and void on the 4Runner trims that actually have DRL leds.

Another reason I like running this way is to have full marker lights. I want people to see me, so they don’t hit me.

Are the 4runner turn lamps actually halogen as stated or did you mean incandescent (normal, old type bulb).

I will look at the vendor for replacement LED, thanks.

Incandescent.

For a company that is trying to sell bulbs, quite a knowledge gap on that, as they refer to it as halogen about a dozen times....

I emailed them for information on the color match for the fog light overlay. I guess, the issue is the color from the new led tirn signal and what is put out from the fog lights with the overlay? I could not easily see the difference in the picture posted.

Thanks

Has anyone with a new 2025 4 Runner installed and tested these lights yet. I know its likely they will work as the platform (Tacoma) is the same. It would be nice to know for sure they don’t generate error codes or flash.

Last question before I order. I see they have a switchback model that can be amber or white. I think form the poor website description that the switchback are for a vehicle that has a dual element bulb that acts as a turn or DRL light.

I don’t have my 4runner SR5 to check yet so, can anyone confirm if the turn lights are dial purpose or just for amber signal.

Your SR5 just uses that bulb as a running light and turn signal. The DRL is the normal LED low beam, on low power. The switchback function is to switch that running light (when the headlights are fully on) from dim amber to dim white. Personally I will be ordering the full amber for mine.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the switchback. When the headlights are full on, the switchback light will be on in white mode?

I guess i would understand better if I knew the normal, unmodified behavior of the SR5 lights. The DRL are separate from the turn signal lights and use the mail headlights on low power, got it.

What do the turn signal lights do when driving with DRL? What do the turn signal light do when headlights are on.

Assuming they are either Amber on or off, will the switchback LED lights ever switch to white? If so, how?

Maybe I have made a mistake on ordering the switchback. If they will only ever be amber, would they be less bright than getting the amber only zT3 light? What was your reasoning for wanting the amber only light?

I could probably call them and get the order changes if switchback lights are not optimum.

The turn signals are completely off when the DRL is on.

The turn signals are on dim amber when the headlights are on. They become bright amber when signaling.

With the switchback lights, they'd be dim white with the headlights on. When the turn signal is activated, they switch to bright amber.
