Was sick of hunting through the owners manual for info, plus my eyesight isn't what it use to be for small print, so I created a GPT to find the info for me. Super easy access to info now.

Great idea. I just uploaded it too and asked some questions based on the miles I have driven so far and things to be concerned with, or to look and listen for (and I received some interesting responses). I had previously asked some questions about GMRS radios, which it incorporated into its responses. I did notice a couple things it got wrong (related to recommended break-in miles for towing, etc.). It's still very useful, but you have to be mindful that it is often wrong in its responses (so double check or ask for specific references if you are taking critical action based on an AI response).

I also like how it includes additional context related to new vehicles in general. I'll use ChatGPT (and similar capabilities) to prompt for information that I might overlook in other places, but it has led me astray before, so I always verify things that are important. FWIW, I have a paid ChatGPT account and mainly use GPT-4o. I use it as a personal account, but I also have a professional interest in Large Language Model (LLM) based capabilities, so I sort of force myself to use ChatGPT for day-to-day things. When I saw your post, I couldn't believe I didn't think to upload/query the manual yet (should have been the first thing I thought of when I saw how long the manual is). We definitely live in interesting times!

For anyone else that attempts this with ChatGPT or something similar, it's a good idea to provide additional context on the prompt related to your trim level and options. This is because the manual covers multiple trim levels and options, so has a choose-your-own-adventure feel as you read through it. It's easy to jump into a section and not realize that it doesn't apply to your vehicle (for example, the multiple drive train and four-wheel drive options). I suspect ChatGPT will have issues differentiating these nuances in some cases, but providing additional context will help it tune future responses.

What you prompt it is very important, and I have asked a few time "are you sure" and it rechecks it's info. Also to isolate outside information I start my prompts with "what does the user manual say about..."

Just tried it. It said to avoid towing a trailer for the first 500 miles, and not to use cruise control for the first 1000 miles. Haven't checked my paper copy yet to see if that matches up, but it seems reasonable.

You can even ask what page is that info on to read the paper copy.

The cruse control part is more about keeping the RPMs the same for a long time and less about the actual function, so you can use it but just rev the engine every so often.
