I suggest that you go to Toyota and Honda dealerships and sit inside the CRV, Highlander, or RAV4, like you did the 4Runner.
Thanks…I had already done that in November, did it again. No 2025 4runners to test drive, so I’m going with the Highlander. 😊

Try the Land Cruiser. It’s more like the 5th gen in terms of cockpit. The new 4 Runner is the TacoSUV!

Well, being 6’6”, this is the first model I don’t feel crunch into, so very happy about that. Even dropped the sear at low as it’ll go!

you can always add height on your seat, not take away easily.

I ordered a TRD Sport.. It's sitting in port in Portland. since last Friday. Up to 20 days of processing time in port and one day to the dealer. I'm super excited about this one.
Same. I got sport premium, mine is in NY right now. I’m amped to get it.

Happy it’s better for you! ☺
This is definitely a first world problem, I think I will be just fine with the hybrid Highlander😀 it took me a while to get over my sad, but at the end of the day, it’s just a vehicle (😳😅)

I’ve been on a list for a 2025 hybrid 4Runner for 4 months. We went to the auto show Friday night, I’m 5‘1“, sat in the Limited (no hood scoop) and I can’t see over the hood! This is a terrible design for short people. They also slanted the windshield more so it feels like a cave inside compared to the 5th 4Runners that felt so spacious inside.

Ugh, now I’m going to get either a CRV or a Highlander. :(

BTW…Anyone know the seat height for both the RAV4 and Highlander? When the seat is in its tallest/highest position, how many inches from the base of the seat to the ground? I can’t seem to find this info anywhere.
I'm 5 10'' and this was a huge issue for me in my 5thgen. not being able to see obstacles over the hood yet my head hitting the ceiling. I don't think it has to do with height more so if your body has a long torso as weird as that sounds. with how amazing this vehicle and platform is im leaning towards this being a deal breaker for me. if you can swing it the LC has better view and more headroom. I've been waiting for dealer to get one to check this out myself.

It really is weird. very close to the same height as you, but with longer legs instead of long torso, and I found the 5th gen to be perfect. I'm also one of the few that liked the seating position in the 3rd gen Taco.

Everybody is different for sure!

Probably not, because car show cars aren't powered up, but...Did you raise the seat? That can make a big difference.
I agree the seats in the LA show could not move. The battery was not hooked up. Every other car at the car show besides Toyota were powered up. It was just so ridiculous for Toyota to not up up the battery. Many people going to the car show are serious buyers and they want to see all parts of the car to be powered up. I bet the lady did not know that the 4Runner was not powered up.

When I drove the 2024 4Runner, I thought it was fantastic, felt like I had a good commanding view of the road. 5’1” female, I know I have different issues from the people at the other end of the height spectrum. 😅 I had to let go of my 4Runner dream. Yesterday I drove a RAV4 in the Highlander, I will be getting on a list for a limited Highlander. No I can’t tow my boat with it, but that’s OK., I’d rather be able to see as I drive around town😂
Hope you have a totally different experience once you sit inside of one!! 😊
you can find a 24 4runner they don’t die and will work just as good as new, just change out the head unit for like 300 bucks and it’s the same as a new tech car. Honestly tho if you are cross shopping a rav4 or highlander and that’s checking all your boxes, maybe a 4runner wasnt the best fit for you anyway. Better choice would be a Honda passport imo.

Thanks, I ended up deciding on a hybrid Highlander. Can’t tow the boat, but we can take more people when we go skiing. ⛷ 🏔🤷🏻‍♀️

if you need head room the LC is 5in taller than a 4R (that is the only positive) but most of the other dimensions are smaller than the 4R i think (dont quote me on that)
