What tariffs does Japan have on the US?And how do you know this?
AgricultureWhat tariffs does Japan have on the US?
Apparently that doesn't matter, the steel and aluminum tariffs are also effecting Japanese companies that export to the US, why would cars be exempt? What tariffs does Japan have on the US?
4Runners that are currently at port would need to clear port processing (custom clearance) before 4/2 to avoid the 25% tariff. With the uncertainty of the newest 25% automobile and parts tariffs that are threatened on April 2, does anyone think that this will affect the orders that we have placed and put our deposit on? I assume that 4Runners that are already in port would not be affected. Not a political post. Just wondering how everyone thinks this will play out. Thanks for moving this mods. I didn’t see this thread earlier.
Because Japan always negotiates.Apparently that doesn't matter, the steel and aluminum tariffs are also effecting Japanese companies that export to the US, why would cars be exempt?
This is FALSE.4Runners that are currently at port would need to clear port processing (custom clearance) before 4/2 to avoid the 25% tariff.
True or false, I got that info from searching. Thank you for the link and video…I watched it. I guess we will see what’s going to happen come the 2nd. I’m hoping it’ll be the latter as my pro is stuck at port. This is FALSE.
I watched an economist on video that came out today in the Wall Street Journal where they said that it is much more complicated than just signing an E.O. She points out that it can take close to 6 months to get everything done in the background before the action happens.

If you have a subscription to WSJ it is a good watch.
My Pro was just built. On a side note, the dealership and I spoke at length about this. I have an out if need be, but they said that Toyota has not pushed any information down the pipe to dealers regarding Tariff issues.True or false, I got that info from searching. 25% tariffs on all imported vehicles just announced:My Pro was just built. On a side note, the dealership and I spoke at length about this. I have an out if need be, but they said that Toyota has not pushed any information down the pipe to dealers regarding Tariff issues.
If POTUS is saying reciprocal tariffs, and keeps it to that, Japan has NO tariff for US Autos. But, you're indeed correct...we have to hope for the best outcome.
It’s currently at port since the 3rd but no Qc hold. Not sure what’s taking them so long to get it moving. My Pro was just built. On a side note, the dealership and I spoke at length about this. ALSO: When did your Pro arrive at the port?
I realize there are bigger problems facing the world than the cost of a new 4Runner increasing by $10-20k, but will it influence your purchasing plans?
in my case, I’m second on the waiting list for a TRD PRO. Even if I decide to pay the extra ~$18k upfront ($90k+taxes/fees for a vehicle that now costs $72k+t/f), that $18k paid in import duty will vanish if the tariffs are later eliminated. In that case a new TRD PRO 4Runner will again cost $72k, and I’ll be holding a used one for which I paid $90k.
As much as I was looking forward to the Fox QS3 shocks on a new TRD PRO, a 25% tariff will likely convince me to hold on to my 2014 5th gen—with all my DIY weekend projects: Sonoran Steel lift/suspension kit, hidden winch mount I welded myself, drawers, skid plates, and AGM battery circuitry.
My TRD Pro was at port jax on the 3rd as well just says hold. Supposed to be here on the 20th now 8th of April. 60 miles away it is frustrating. It’s currently at port since the 3rd but no Qc hold. Not sure what’s taking them so long to get it moving.
