I saw a press drive video of what was the TRD Pro I believe with a guy saying a it didn’t have Traffic Jam Assist in the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

This feature sounds awesome being in Dallas traffic. Has anyone used it on any Toyotas?

I will link the video and timestamp of the man saying that if I find it. But I just saw this on Bernardi Toyota of Framingham stating it would be on all 6th Gens. Anyone have any word on which may be correct?

Last I looked on the spec list on Toyota.com, this is included on the Pro. Would be weird if it wasn’t.

Only issue is it requires “Drive Connect” which is a subscription and you only get one year for free.

My spec sheet for ORP lists (TJA) Traffic Jam Assist. I could not find it in the Owners Manual or the Driving Support Systems Exerpt. I easily found it in the Grand Highlander Exerpt, so I am curious as well if we get this. It would be used daily by me. I won’t get my ORP for a couple more weeks to test this. Hopefully someone will be able to.

I believe that since the Safety Sense has updates, the software could easily be upgraded beyond the text within the manuals. Since this is the newest Toyota line, it would be easy to incorporate TJA and update the literature later.

that is to say, we may have been upgraded into TJA!

Perhaps…!!?🤔

someone needs reading comprehension. please note the location of the period.

you are mis reading the part about where is starts with TRD Sport and on.

TSS 3.0 features are standard across all trims.

the period then denotes the special features mentioned after TSS 3.0 only inherent into those trims specified.

the section in green is only TSS 3.0

the section in red is talking about those features only part of those trims that include PVM and MTM respectively which is outside of the features of TSS 3.0

hence the period is critical in reading and the wording "recieve"

Haha actually I read it just fine. The reasoning for adding that photo was because it clearly states it would be on all trims. Everything after the period that you mention is irrelevant to my thread. I’ll have to find the video of the guy saying TJA isn’t on the Pro. He even goes on to say he was surprised by this. Then the more I look into it (that photo) clearly states it will be on all models.

I hate to be this way but is your reading comprehension alright? My thread is about Traffic Jam Assist. What exactly is relevant to that in the red section? And what does the period and the word receive** have to do with Traffic Jam Assist?

That section is talking about other features that only those trims receive. The green section says TJA will be on all trims but I only made this thread because I originally heard differently.

the only place i have heard of TJA is in this thread. i know you posted screenshots but outside of that i see no mention of it. its not even in the owners manual.

the only thing i can think of that fits this is maybe dynamic cruise control in conjunction with proactive driving assist which probably helps in a traffic jam since it can help in maintaining distance to the vehicle in front of you.

i know the older TSS system couldn't maintain a safe distance down to zero mph and resume from that speed.

Fair enough man. Look into it, it sounds very interesting. That was the other part of my question was just how well it worked.

Apparently the difference is that you don’t have to have your hands on the steering wheel up to 30mph and it takes full control in stop and go traffic situations. It does require the Drive Connect subscription which is pretty ridiculous to me. But in this thread someone else posted a picture with the TRD Pro down to the SR5 having it checked for TJA. I’m in the belief the wording isn’t updated yet but it will ship with this feature. Or they have combined the Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Assist together and traffic jam assist happens automatically in a traffic type situation.

Here’s a few links

ok so the toyota video is over a year old so they probably didnt update brochures or manuals. but the concept looks just like lane departure, lane tracing, dynamic cruise control, and proactive driving assist systems in play working together.

i think that was the concept but lawyers probably put the brakes on that wording as i see it as a liability if people use it during 404 driving (LA) and they run into people or any other large metro area (ATL is a pita, i know from experience visting my mom)

i mean look at the hot water elon is with FSD.

Toyota is making us pay for driving features that are standard on other vehicles? Sounds like a money grab to me.
