Good thing we are in a Toyota tread ha ha I’m still undecided 4 Runner or Trailsport Honda I will ride them both before deciding ! But……Never a Ford.

The Bronco Sports is 20 inches shorter than the Honda Passport means a lot to my Dog!

That Passport Trailsport looks pretty appealing, but I don't think I'd buy another TrailSport. We currently have a 2023 Pilot TrailSport, and the size is amazing, and most about it is perfect for us, but the driving and steering is just really light and unpredictable, as well as the feeling of the gas pedal when needing some power. I test drove the new Tacoma and it was WAY better, and if the 4Runner is anything like it, it'll be our perfect vehicle.

From what I've seen, I haven't seen anywhere that says the 4Runner will need premium. Someone posted in another thread that it mentions 87.

On 87 octane fuel, Toyota says this engine will make a peak of 326 hp at 6,000 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque from just 1,700 rpm. Towing capacity is 6,000 lb.

Ok I’ll believe it when I physically look à the fuel door, 87 ok but look for 91 , that’s the information I got.

Starting to think more about the Passport. Honestly looks like a great contender.

I take this statement back. I’m good. Rather the 4Runner.

Totally agree. I was really leaning towards a 4Runner after being a Subaru fan for many years. Don't really do hard off-roading, but thought I'd try my hand at getting into a body-on-frame with proper truck parts. But this shift in pricing and model lineup doesn't inspire confidence in this potential customer. Even the external design doesn't quite excite me like the outgoing model. But as far as new vehicles go, have to say the Honda Passport certainly looks brawny enough and from the sound of it that vectoring system has impressed a lot of people. Throw in that NA V6 with a 10-speed and the formula is shaping up nicely. Hhhmm... will have to drive both to really get a sense of what's happening.

The way things are going the Passport will be at the Dealer before the 4 Runner!

One major issue with the Honda is the weird situation with the full size spare wheel upright in the cargo area. Not a fan of that as you lose 30% of your cargo area to the spare and no way to fit in mountain bikes. I would most likely remove the current load floor put the spare flat down as low as possible and add a plywood floor above to have a flat cargo area.

If I understood another video right, the full size spare with holder is an available accessory, but not the way they come. It would have a normal temporary spare underneath. I can see it not working though in your case if you needed a full size spare for your short trips.
