Hey I have a VIN in the 2400s from a northeast dealership, was wondering what the latest VINs to arrive have been. Expected delivery date to dealership is sometime next week but am wondering if it is going to get pushed back further. Just sold my wrangler and am now wondering how much longer I am going to have to go without a car.

I'm in the 1300s.... any day now. My 4Runner arrived in Denver (an hour away from me) last Thursday. So it's just a matter of getting the damn thing on a truck. The ETA is tomorrow or Thursday, but who knows! The salesman seems to think tomorrow. Hope you get yours soon!

I get the feeling they will start pouring into dealerships soon. Then it will be interesting how long it is until they actually start sitting on lots before getting reserved (I'm guessing mid-summer, but sales will still be strong - just a guess). Since I've watched this so closely so far, I'll probably keep watching even after I get my 4Runner.

Mine is also in the 2400's. Last update I got was on Sunday 2/23/25 and they said it's due to arrive between 2/28/25 and 3/7/25. I'm in the PNW

I’m in the very early 400’s (TRDPro) and it should arrive the 2nd or 3rd week of March. Not sure how Toyota does the VIN thing, as there are numbers way higher than that, which have already been sold. Maybe they reserved some early numbers for the higher trims?

just so people know, most of the lowest vin numbers will never see consumer hands.

all concepts/test mules/ pre productions vehicles are giving a vin sequence and then are destroyed. so you will never see a vin 1 in a consumer hand and much less any number below 100 if i remember correctly.

Huh, early 400's and hasn't arrived yet? Sure there isn't a 1 or a 2 in front of that low 400 number? Coming to Montana, I would assume it'll be coming through the Portland or Seattle port which are the closer ones to Japan. IDK maybe they just have fewer trucks heading into Montana this time of year due to the heavy snow over there.

Yup, no 1's or 2's in front. I am thinking they might have assigned the hybrids/premium models the first VINs? Not sure at all, just a guess... Anyone out there know?

It's sequenced by trim level. Other letters/number in the VIN distinguish that.

Example for VIN JTENU5JR1R5234567

SectionMeaning
JTEJapan, Toyota, SUV Division
NU5JRModel & Features (SUV, Engine, TRD Off-Road, 4WD)
1Check Digit (for validation)
R2024 Model Year
5Tahara Plant (Japan)
234567Unique Serial Number

FWIW, I'm getting an Off-Road Premium with "JTE VA5BR3 - 5 0013-- "... So, I'm 1300s for the Off-Road Premiums (not sure if the Off-Road and Off-Road Premium are in a different series).

build number is not defined by trim or vice versa. its just coincidence a lot of a certain trim were built. its all a bell curve in building trims.

SR5, TRD (Sport, Sport Prem), TRD OR (Prem, HV, HV Prem), Limited (HV), Platinum, TRD Pro, Trail Hunter

the TRD, TRD OR and Limited will be the bulk of the trims made, as you get to the outisde of those trims toyota will build less compared to the middle one.

rough example ...

SR5 will be about 15%, TRD 20%, TRD OR 20%, Limited 20%, Platinum 10%, TRD Pro 5%, Trail Hunter 5%

but within those trims you have to also realize that the unique trims within will have to be split within the original percent, ie: TRD OR 20% (Prem 10%, HV 5%, HV Prem 5%)

but toyota will adjust the breakouts depending on sales of each trim and then within that trim unique loadouts

i saw it with the tundra's, they had built like 5% SR, but then they backed off a bit when sales never met projections and SR's started getting really rare in 2024-2025 for consumer sales (fleet sales dont count since they are a different metric since the fulfillment pipeline for them is different)

just take my post and example as theoretical not hard numbers, but from observations over the years
