That’s very odd. From my experience at Auto Shows especially on press days, they don’t fully know things like that unless they work from Corporate.
That's the reason I was a bit disappointed. The product specialists are corporate employees, not dealership employees.

Hmmm, very odd then. I just feel that it’s a 2025 MY vehicle. Maybe they don’t fully know but hey beats me

That's what was peculiar. If she didn't know whether the 4Runner was going to be redesigned for the 2025 model year, just say that. The specificity of her response suggesting that it would NOT be new for the 2025 model year was what struck me given the info to the contrary floating around elsewhere.

I was in the market for a LC 1958 but no Color choice! I don’t what bell and whistle! Now I will have to wait for a new 4 Runner 2025 below 60k (Canadian) Hopefully.
I wouldn’t have thought $59K to start should be a huge stretch for the 4 runner, but given the LC starts at $69K, that would undercut it a fair bit. Which might be just the product differentiation they’re going for.

Have they mentioned yet where the 4 runner might be built? I wonder with LC & GX both now at 2 plants in Japan, is there capacity to move 4 runner production to Mexico? Sharing more parts with the Tacoma and even a production line might just get cost down enough to do it.

Yes I have a feeling that it could be build in either the USA or Mexico. I wonder if it will be all time AWD like LC & GX? The new Tacoma is not all time AWD as far as I know. That means if you no not engage the 4x4 It is only rear wheel drive ; that would make it more economical than the others.

Tacoma Limited IForce max will be full time 4wd like the LC. That’s the trim that I will be shopping against vs 6G 4Runner and possibly the LC. LC is apparently specd to require premium gas so will be interesting to see what new 4Runner specs will be.
