Scarcity effects the monetary value individuals place on goods and services.

The consumer/buyer, not the dealer, actually has all the power since they decide when to spend their money. If they do not want the add-ons, they don't buy the vehicle.

Discipline, as you stated, is the key. I could be wrong, but I think as soon as these vehicles start hitting the streets, the demand will increase.
Let me fix this - "Perceived scarcity" would be a better term. OEM's and dealers learned that if they can give the illusion there's always supply chain issues, they can keep their prices elevated for those impatient buyers willing to pay any ADM you throw at them to be the first in line. While foolish and a waste of money, it happens.

I also learned this from an industry source. They are very aware of what they are doing and dealers still today will cite "supply chain issues". Patience and a little bit of work always pays off in the end.

Inventory has been building and so has auto loan delinquencies and consumer debt ( $1.7 T). I'm in no rush whatsoever to test drive one. I have two vehicles at the moment that run just fine. :)

I do have some questions:
Do the Canadian and US bound vehicles use the same US based PPO facilities?
If not, where are the ones meant for US bound 4Runners?

For the US West coast, what port of entry gets used for US bound 4Runners?
