To be honest, the more I look, the more I can't bear the aging 20-year-old 5th Gen platform...

I loved my 2016 5th gen the entire time I had it. I was quite content. When I saw the 6th gen, I knew it was time for a change for me, personally. Of course, other people have their own opinion and that's cool, but I do get a chuckle from reading some of the silly arguments some people make to try to convince others that the 6th gen is an epic failure already.

Yea, it really is a bit ridiculous. I had 3 different 5th gens and enjoyed them when I had them, but driving vehicles with 8 speed autos and turbos really made the 5th gen feel like a dinosaur when it was dropping down to 3rd gear to maintain speed on interstate hills. A charming dinosaur, but a dinosaur none the less.

And to think, just a month or so ago, a few people with supposedly insider knowledge said these won't start delivering until May or June or something like that. I think it was mostly 5th gen lovers that hate the new 6th gen that was spewing that information.

It's a TRD sport. Nobody cares.

Ok, just received an email from a Toyota dealer in SoCal saying that there's one 2025 SR5 4WD coming in soon, for $8k over MSRP. I'm looking for at least a hybrid 4WD.

That's ridiculous, given that the SR5 4WD MSRP is $42k.

Anyone know why this price sheet has what normally are the DIO (dealer installed options) labelled as LIO? Is there a difference between DIO and LIO?

LIO = distributor installed option
DIO = Dealer Installed Option
PIO = Port Installed Option
FIO = Factory Installed Option

Anyone put down deposit / reservation on an actual allocated 2025 4Runner yet?

I doubt deposit or reservation matters. The dealer can come back and say "it's $10k over MSRP, do you want it? If not, we'll go to the next person". I didn't think any dealer promised to sell at MSRP in writing. Putting down a deposit or reservation is solely for the benefit of the dealers. Now they know they have a long list of potential buyers. They would be stupid to sell at MSRP with that long list on their hands. Just IMHO.

All local dealers around me have agreed to no dealer markup or add-ons over MSRP. Get them to agree to it with your pre-order.
